scatmandoo
Well the campaign between me and my Ork mate is finishing over the course of the next two evenings. We set a points limit of 4k, got 6x objectives of mixed points values and deploying in corners. Here is a taster of the table with terrain set up. http://i42.photobucket.com/albums/e301/chrisburnett2010/geekery/20150428_095921.jpg http://i42.photobucket.com/albums/e301/chrisburnett2010/geekery/20150428_095911.jpg Link to comment https://bolterandchainsword.com/topic/306794-big-old-apocalyptic-scale-game/ Share on other sites

scatmandoo
Wait no longer my comrades! This is how the scene was set after deployment. Unfortunately the Orks got the jump on me and this is how it looks. http://i42.photobucket.com/albums/e301/chrisburnett2010/geekery/20150428_203351.jpg http://i42.photobucket.com/albums/e301/chrisburnett2010/geekery/20150428_203359.jpg http://i42.photobucket.com/albums/e301/chrisburnett2010/geekery/20150428_203413.jpg http://i42.photobucket.com/albums/e301/chrisburnett2010/geekery/20150428_203419.jpg I then rolled a 1 for my seize so onwards the Orks went. They managed to get close, the knight failed to pen one of my chimeras, the biggest damage was my CCS in the bunker got wiped out by a big mek with a shokk attack gun. here is the scene after my movement. http://i42.photobucket.com/albums/e301/chrisburnett2010/geekery/20150428_214720.jpg http://i42.photobucket.com/albums/e301/chrisburnett2010/geekery/20150428_214728.jpg http://i42.photobucket.com/albums/e301/chrisburnett2010/geekery/20150428_214739.jpg I then managed to only strip 3 hull points off the battlewagon with the meganobs and Ghazz after shootting everything. This was a combination of horrendous shooting, nothing from pasks prescienced sqn due to poor dice, only a 1 from the d3 on a manticore shell, cover saves etc. I also killed 2 of the deathkoptas. Turn 2 This is the scene after his movement and shooting. http://i42.photobucket.com/albums/e301/chrisburnett2010/geekery/20150428_222128.jpg http://i42.photobucket.com/albums/e301/chrisburnett2010/geekery/20150428_222134.jpg http://i42.photobucket.com/albums/e301/chrisburnett2010/geekery/20150428_222146.jpg http://i42.photobucket.com/albums/e301/chrisburnett2010/geekery/20150428_222155.jpg Having fun though at the moment it is looking dire. Can the Guard hold the line or is their a registrar somewhere warming a pen up to hail the loss of the regiment and strike the 171st off the active register....... march10k
Nice!!! I would love to play larger games more regularly...being able to field my shadowsword without it taking up 1/3 of my points...being able to splurge on some fortifications...sounds lovely...1100 points for my stormtrooper formation, 565 for the shadowsword, ~450 for fortifications (2x VWB, firestorm, landing pad), and my 1850 list is already pushing 4k, lol! This is the first and probably last for a very long time against a regular gaming buddy of mine. I am leaving the RAF during the summer and relocating and he is away between now and me leaving. So we thought to hell with it. No force org at all and just use as much of our collections as we can. Ldorte
Looks like a great game! Always a rarity to use everything you have so these games always tend to be a highlight of your gaming year even if they can be a little draining. Received the rest of my MDF the other day, so will hopefully be having a similiar size game on a nice 10ft x 4ft board at some point in the next couple of months. TacoMareen
I must admit I applaud the terrain, the coors light was a good idea! march10k
I can't wait to stop moving around so I can have a set of 8x4 tables that can be shoved together for large games...I'll start investing heavily in terrain at that point, too! scatmandoo
It is a sad day for the imperium, even with the full remainder of the 171st. The Orks won the planet though at a great cost to themselves. The Inquisition pulled the remaining forces from the planet saving what equipment they could so that the 171st could reinforce and re-arm to aid the fight as every man is useful in these dire times. After that the planet was declared exterminatus and so much firepower was put into it the planet broke apart and is now not even useful for tyranids! Here are some pictures for the rest of the battle to the end. http://i42.photobucket.com/albums/e301/chrisburnett2010/geekery/20150429_190307.jpg http://i42.photobucket.com/albums/e301/chrisburnett2010/geekery/20150429_190320.jpg http://i42.photobucket.com/albums/e301/chrisburnett2010/geekery/20150429_190329.jpg http://i42.photobucket.com/albums/e301/chrisburnett2010/geekery/20150429_190350.jpg http://i42.photobucket.com/albums/e301/chrisburnett2010/geekery/20150429_195604.jpg http://i42.photobucket.com/albums/e301/chrisburnett2010/geekery/20150429_195619.jpg http://i42.photobucket.com/albums/e301/chrisburnett2010/geekery/20150429_195659.jpg http://i42.photobucket.com/albums/e301/chrisburnett2010/geekery/20150429_210525.jpg http://i42.photobucket.com/albums/e301/chrisburnett2010/geekery/20150429_210530.jpg http://i42.photobucket.com/albums/e301/chrisburnett2010/geekery/20150429_213858.jpg http://i42.photobucket.com/albums/e301/chrisburnett2010/geekery/20150429_222743.jpg http://i42.photobucket.com/albums/e301/chrisburnett2010/geekery/20150429_222755.jpg Link to comment https://bolterandchainsword.com/topic/306794-big-old-apocalyptic-scale-game/#findComment-4025183 Share on other sites

It really was a great game with some great moments of heroism and even the odd bit of friendly fire! Come out of retirement, its definately worth it in a friendly environment.
