ak1508
As the topic title states, I was wondering how to adapt the model looks to fit specific eras. Can the plastic GW tactical marines pass up for MK 4 Maximus, MK 5 Heresy and MK 6 Corvus armour models, provided if you have the right helmets and shoulder pads (for the purposes of saving money maybe)? Or are they signifficantly different? All comments would be greatly appreciated! Daemon2027
No, the plastic ones are fine. You may want to remove some details, Aquilas and purity seals are less common in 30k, but they do occur (well oaths of moment not purity seals). I'm planing on using the plastic Mark VI, and I will also make use of any Mark IV in the tac box set. If your doing a seige of terra force you could even get away with some Mark VII as I belive this was in production late heresy. Also you can use plastic terminators if you want, this was a mark that was around in the heresy. ak1508
Ok thanks very much! Worth looking into that then if it comes out much cheaper without any major noticeable changes in detailing in turms of fluff! Daemon2027
Raven Guard and Alpha Legion, with there use of Mark VI could be a cheap option for heresy forces, using plastic and some resin kits. Or, you add the plastic to the resin and have more variety across your army. Lord Sondar
It depends on how strict you want to be. I made a Blood Angels tactical squad using mostly mk III, mixed with the mk VI and VII plastic kits. The arms are quite interchangeable. The helmets less so. The shoulder pads and Helmets are really what gives mk III it's look. I was quite happy with the result. It all comes down to cost vs. fluff in my opinion; how much you are willing to spend and how you want your army to look.
