No xenos this week...  just the start of a badger rider:

As is usual, there is more information on my blog and this week, it has a guide to making my frog faces, the rough rider WIP and some finished Sentinels:

I have three separate poses for the five that I have. There are three like the one in the picture above, then one of each different pose.

The raised arm ones above are re poseable to a certain degree but I will likely just move the arms a little and tilt the heads in different directions.

I'll sort the lance tip out with the rest of them once I have the unit all assembled. The base will get worked on with putty off cuts while I am sculpting other things... apart from that, Chuck is finished :)

Loved these miniatures over at the Heresy30k forums and now I get to see them here too. I'm going to refer to Chuck as 'The Dude' if its alright with you. I wish there were the kind of rules that allowed them to be fielded properly in the current codex.

I think the next rider will not be one for drinking alcohol but will drink milk instead and will be afraid to fly... often heard to be saying "you ain't getting me on no damn plane!" I also heard he doesn't get on well with idiots because he can also be heard to say, on occasions "I pity the fool!".

I'm just saying :)

Cheers :) ... although I would definitely say that the Catachan arms do come in handy. Here's a recent commission I have finished and one of the troops uses the Catachan arms:

... and there is a whole squad of troops to join him here:

It is nice to actually finish a commission (rather than being rubbish).

If you decide to ever play games with them, I'd highly suggest looking at the Heresy: Tempest book as it lays out a similar guard list to the 40k one, but let's you add army wide upgrades to customize your force into something more fluffy.

I believe one of them was the ability to give 3+ armor, another improved toughness, and the other was improved long range weaponry.

I'd take a look if u were you to see if you'd like to ever run your army. I think those exo suits would make good Castellax battle automata counts as :)

That sounds like fun... a bit like the old customisations that you could add in a previous versions. If I was to game, I'd certainly use the option to increase Toughness and probably lessen Initiative (like the good old days).

I'd still probably stick with the Terminator stats for the Exos (especially as I have now chopped the hammers off and given them chainfists, just to comply)... It also gives them a nice beefy profile with a few special rules to make them the true heroes that they are supposed to be :) (also, I don't have the mechanicus codexes).

In another random change of direction... While I was converting some gunners for my heavy weapon tractors (2nd platoon - and they are all done, waiting to dry :) ), I decided that I couldn't wait any longer so I started putting together a Bullgryn that is made from a Mantic Dreadball Orx model... here is the first test (WIP) with a Hasslefree human and an older version of a GW Ogryn:

I had hoped to be a bit further along with these... but here are five finished gunners with five assembled missile launchers:

The loaders are on the table and are still WIP... but will be finished this week (at some point).

All of the heavy weapon teams for the second platoon are now finished:

I've already got the remaining troops out for the first squad so things will hopefully move quite quickly :)
