gizur
http://www.forgeworld.co.uk/New_Stuff/SAMUS.html Samus is here, in this Paintsheme ugly as Hell. Stofficus
Whelp, there's my choice made for me. Solar Auxilia ahoy boys! (though I'll still do a Legion ally and expand them over time into a whole force, it'd be rude not to) Link to comment https://bolterandchainsword.com/topic/306951-samus-is-here/#findComment-4026511 Share on other sites

Petitioner's City
Yeah one of the Blood Pact in Blood Pact is possessed or aflicted by a part of Samus. Given this, it kinda makes sense then that he is Khornate (and that he's incarnated by the slaughter of billions/trillions in the Heresy)! PS - it's not recycling, to be technical. It was only a fun allusion to his own content. Samus in BP was just a nice easter egg allusion, no more, especially as it didn't affect the plot. Ravenor was Eisenhorn's protégé and at least on henchman served both of them. Gaunt likes to read Ravenor's book (The Spheres of Longing). Brother Heinrich
· Hidden by Brother-Chaplain Kage, May 1, 2015 - Off topic and useless bitching Hidden by Brother-Chaplain Kage, May 1, 2015 - Off topic and useless bitching The amount of things I would have liked to see instead of Samus is practically endless. I cannot even describe how much I do not care about him as a character. Not even getting into what a colossal waste of time the model represents, especially since it looks like a giant dog monkey with cartoon hands and loincloth. Swing and a frustrating :cussing miss Forgeworld. Link to comment https://bolterandchainsword.com/topic/306951-samus-is-here/#findComment-4026965
ThatOneMarshal
Look out samus here! Samus is the end of all things. And ugly models. You would think he's a skaven by his model. He's got T7 yet only a 5++ also his lord of ruin storm rule is kinda weird. Good for a khorne army though. Millicant
Wow, seems like this board has been increasingly negative lately. Color me disappointed in the B&C's attitude. I think the Solar Auxilia command squad is brilliant! Gorgeous models, to be sure! I also like how the Lord Marshall is in there but is actually be used separately on the table. Iron Hands Fanatic
One thing we need to be careful of is assuming that by designing and modelling Samus, FW has somehow pushed other models being worked on aside in favour of releasing the new model. FW's designers tend to specialise in particular areas, and although it isn't stated who exactly designed Samus, it was probably Trish Carden, who tends to design the majority of their monstrous creatures - if she wasn't designing Samus, then it's unlikely she would have been working on a different style of model, but another large creature. Brother-Chaplain Kage
Keep it on topic and keep it clean. If you don't like the model, that's fine, but posts regarding the manner in which FW chooses to release their products has nothing to do with the topic and will put down. Raktra
The model does look weird to me, but at least his rules are pretty cool. And stop saying he looks like a Skaven, people, I already have an addiction to buying all the rat-men things, I don't need another item wiggling in there. SkimaskMohawk
Honestly not a fan of any of Trish Carden's stuff; anything on two legs tends to look too gangly imo. Annnnnnnd she's responsible for the raven guard contemptor.... I really like the Solar Auxilia command though, especially the helmeted versions. As for the Samus rules; I bet we're going to see rules for Daemons as a Primary Detachment in Tempest Link to comment https://bolterandchainsword.com/topic/306951-samus-is-here/#findComment-4027068 Share on other sites
1ncarnadine
More stoked for the rules for Samus than the model, that's for sure. The model looked fine at the weekender and looks better now with paint on it. But I wish they'd gone more for a more distorted "unspeakable horror of the warp" look rather than "another wingless Bloodthirster" (or as someone on Heresy30k put it, a shaved werewolf). I feel like Bloodborne's Cleric Beast does a pretty good job of showing off the kind of direction I would've rather seen... I wonder if there are any cool tricks to play with Born of Murder. Seems like there could be some ally/Relic use shenanigans that might make that work really well but nothing comes to mind immediately. GrandMagnus
I like the samus model, I dont think he looks at all like a skaven, in fact my first thought was a dog or hound of some sort, which is rather fitting. I dont entirely like the colour scheme though, I always figured him for a undivided daemon.
