Gorepack question

Hey guys, I just picked up the khorne daemonkin book and am somewhat confused as to the formation requirements with it. I pretty much got it for running a CAD but the gorepack formation has caught my eye.

The requirements are confusing me so if I want to run a CAD daemonkin how do I simply insert the Gorepack formation because it looks like I also have to have another formation to unlock it? If I am playing unbound can I use it without the other formation being required?

Now that I am going to fit Samus in from forgeworld that's 375 points that just got gobbled up. Along with Belakor points be tight.

You have three basic ways to create a battle-forged army detachment with the Daemonkin Codex.

The first is your standard CAD, which follows the Force Org Chart in the BRB.

The second is by using formations from the KDK Codex. For KDK, we have access to the Slaughtercult, Charnel Cohort, Gorepack, Bloodstorm and Brazen Onslaught.

And then you have the Blood Host Detachment is a Slaughtercult as your Cult formation, up to one Lord of War formation and one to eight auxilliary formations.

As for your question, you can have a CAD and an allied Gorepack formation. On paper, it would look no different from having any other normal army that has an allied detachment.

Ok so I can have:

my new Samus Lord of war slot

khorne lord with 4 units of 8 khorne cultists as primary CAD

then gorepack formation with 8 bikers and 2x 8 flesh hounds

then allied chaos daemon detachment belakor + bloodletters (gonna have them behind ADL manning ILC with their crazy BS)

then another CTA allied formation of vindicator assassin to pop a character t1 for Samus to come in.

and that would be like all my points

Not relevant in this question, but you mean one Lord of Slaughter (which includes the Lord of Skulls), right? You can take up to eight Lords of War from the War Machine Auxiliary option (for a total of nine per Slaughtercult).

Lords of Skulls

888pts means not likely taking more than 1 in a standard game or 2 in a higher point game. Those guys eat up points like no body's business (too over-costed imo, but I still will be getting one).

You reckon 8 in an 8000 point army isn't realistic? :)

Not for normal players. lol Who even has 3 or more them??

While I'm a huge fan of the holy numbers, I agree that the LoS is overcosted by about 200-300 pts. I get the pts costs on the Greater Daemon Lords, nice hint about the numbers, but if you have to make them cost 666,777,888 and 999 pts please let them be worth it, pls FW? I mean Anggrath runs around without a D weapon??Hello???

I'd rather a Lord of Skulls to An'ggrath. It's rules are competitive, but just not its points. lol
