TITANS! - an army project needing help!

Recommended Posts

Hey guys I have just obtained for myself a forgeworld Reaver, but now have the challenging job of doing a good job on the painting!

Help!

I need any suggestions of how to paint checkered patterns over large areas, cos my attempts at freehand are struggling atm!

This is the pattern I am thinking.

Make a Stencil or Mask the area using Painters Tape into the pattern you want.

Paint first color before applying Stencil / Mask -> Apply Mask/Stencil -> Paint over it in second color -> Remove Mask/Stencil -> voila.

Make sure that its laid on properly so that theres no chance for the 2nd color to bleed under and get over the Primary.

First off, you are a very brave man. I'm still staring at my unassembled Warhound, terrified I'll screw it up, lol. My hats off to you taking on a Reaver, that's a lot of work.

At this size, have you thought of investing in an airbrush? Or are you using one already? That will alter how you can make that awesome checkerboard pattern you're looking for.

I'll be watching this thread with interest, sir. Good luck!

Stencils or decals. Like this, for example: http://www.bolterandchainsword.com/files/file/434-checkers-black/

Ya know, with all these Reavers showing up with the Legio B&C lately, I may need to rescale some of the Generic Markings sheets he's posted.
