ETL Vow can be found here

Since I want to make sure I get stuff done as soon as possible, I jumped right into it.

First up, base coat! I am actually going to pain Karlean gold because I figure it would be different.

The base gold is a 50/50 mix vallejo glorious gold and Heavy Siena.

Because I am having him shown as fighting within the palace from Deathstorm, I decided to go with an alabaster/off white stone motif. Basecoat is Vallejo bleach bone.

Next is a liberal coat of GW Devlan Mud.

I plan to have the inside of the cape be more white than bleached bone with some fancy borders. The outside is going to be red to help break up the darkness of the model.

Progress so far:

Drybrush shining gold, base coat of mechrite red and Vallejo Silver for the chains.

Quick pic of him put together:

I'm having trouble figuring out how I want to take on the hammer part to be honest. It just seems so plain Jane to paint it up metal so I was contemplating making it have lightning effect. But since it's facing away from the target in the pose, I don't think it makes logical sense.

Also I need to get better lighting.

The other thing is I want to make sure I don't ruin this gold armor somehow. I am extremely happy with how it turned out this time.

Update time:

Some detail work was done. The base itself is done so that's one thing out of the way. A dry brush of red was applied to the cloak.

I did start doing the chest wings after taking these but because of the chains and other things, it's not turning out the way I wanted.

So I am already trying to plan out what to do after this. Given that I have 2 months and some change, I think I want to go big for my 3rd vow.

Do you think a "Squad Alphaeus" and a Land Raider Crusader may be too much to handle? My worry is that the Land raider may take too much time to finish.

It's actually the same as my chest wings:

base coat: The Fang

First layer: Vallejo Ultramarine

Second layer: Ice Blue

Third layer: vallejo wolf gray

Last spots: White.

My method has be making sure that the wolf gray and white are edges only so it doesn't blanch out the lower layers too much. I'm also very specific in where I place the gray and white so that it king of hits only those areas which I think would have fire coming out of them.
