honeybadger33
Hey guys. I recently bought myself an airbrush and am getting started with it on my models. Or Im trying to at the moment. Most of the paint I own is GW Citadel paint. Can I use Citadel Paints in my airbrush if I thin it down? If so, how do I mix it (How much do I thin) and what is the best way of transfering the paint from one pot to another to the cup. TotalInsomnia
So you definitely can use your GW paints along with basically all other acrylic paints. I either use a brush or a dropper to transfer the pant depending on how much i need. I thin my paint in the airbrush cup although that may not be the best practice. I start by putting in thinner and add paint till i get about a 1 to 1 mix. If it seems good i spray it on something (not the mini and not something absorbent either) and go from there. After a while you will get a feel for it. You can thin paint with water but I get better results from a tamiya thinner and glaze medium mix. Firepower
Like Total said, any acrylic is fine, more or less. I mix in the cup using Vallejo airbrush thinner. Rather than going on a set formula like thinner/glaze combos, whatever you use you should simply shoot for a skim milk consistency.
