New HH shortstory - Ironfire

THE STORY

His body broken by the fall of the Schadenhold, the Iron Warriors warsmith Idriss Krendl is nonetheless far from defeated. Now commanding two of the mighty siege guns stolen from the forge world of Diamat, he seeks to redeem himself in the eyes of his primarch by bringing down the Great Selenic palace on Euphorus, and gather invaluable tactical data for the eventual assault on Terra. His plan? To utilise a strategy of his own devising – the glorious Ironfire protocol.

Follow the continuing adventures of Iron Warriors Warsmith Idriss Krendl as he attempts to take down a giant palace with a pair of the enormous siege guns. We last met Krendl in the story Savage Weapons The Iron Within where he went head to head with the loyalist Dantioch. After that humiliation, he's trying to recover his reputation with an audacious plan.

See I thought all the traitor IWs died at Schadenhold after Dantioch trolled them all. It'll be good to see the Diamat weapons used...but is this another McGuffin weapon plot?

 

And Ironfire protocols? They couldn't come up with something that doesn't have the word Iron in it? The Iron Warriors and their Iron resolve charged into the Iron fortress in their MKIII Iron armor in an Iron fist formation. Iron iron ironity iron.

Yes! More iron warriors, I'm definitely happy about that, did anyone else notice they referred to the Iron Warriors as the IIIrd legion in the article on the warhammer app.?

The Shadow knows the evils in the hearts of men. And kills them. The Night Haunter just goes bonkers and has tea time with the Bolton banner.

Back on topic, a whole book about using ordnance to acquire bigger ordnance? That's the correct way to write the Iron Warriors. (Although I'm longing for a story about the lodges, but that's me wishlisting.)

I always thought Dantioch (though not his story) would make it back to Terra for the siege since his defense was stellar and the way he teleported to the enemy's ship sounded all too familiar...

Nah, it's an ebook. The story will be "there are blueprints for a small hole in the wall of the Imperial Palace that no one knows about, just bug enough for Space Marines to go through single file, without armor. So I'm going to take these giant guns and devise and evil, cunning, and dastardly plan where I blow this place apart." And then the story ends before it actually happens.

It wasn't that bad to be fair. I've read worse ebooks for the Horus Heresy.
