Mechanicum Bases

Hi,

Any recommendations on what companies bases would work well for a 30K Mechanicum force?

Secret weapon scrapyard aren't bad but I'd rather have a more corrugated metal look

Also, is anyone aware of a base size guide for Mechanicum models?

There is one on Dakka for 40k but I've been unable to find information for our Mechanicum constructs.

Thanks

Nziv

I have a bag of 10 warcast studios industrial bases:

At the moment I am making use of martian ironearth, and have no use for the set myself.

Thanks for the responses,

I've very much torn between

and

As for base sizes themselves I'm assuming

Thralls are 25

Thallax, Ursarax and Myrmidons are 40mm

Vorax, Castellax 60mm

Does that sound about right?

If you're going for Mars I was thinking of the Secret Weapon Mini desert ones

I'm using the Micro Art ones, myself. Kinda negates the whole point to Ironearth paint though. Thank the Emperor for poom - I'll be copying him flatteringly basing my technique on his own Mechanicum army bases. smile.png

I had similar ideas on bases but ended up making my own and then casting them up.

Very nice bases there!

Cheers ... Couldn't find exactly what I wanted so went in at the deep end so to speak and did my own.

The biggest variety I did was with 25mm ones (think I've got 11 different options) ...

The dread size one came out pretty the best ...

Need to do the moulds for the bike bases and that set of 40mm bases. However I have already got moulds for other 40mm ones ...

So if you know what you want and can't find exactly something to match that idea there's the option of doing some yourself. You don't need to go quotes as overboard as I did with different ones. Any base can be orientated in different directions meaning having just a few variations is enough to give plenty of variety to the bases.

Using a 2 part latex rubber and then casting is a casting resin. The box normally is Lego bit it depends on the size. These were an attempt at quite sunk detail which didn't work quite as well ...

Not a complete loss. We learn from failure.

every bit of data counts. Remember that! The mechanicus deletes nothing.

Quite true and a mate quite happily took them all off me as he'd been scratch building similar ones to a similar standard. So they didn't go to waist and saved him a fair bit of time.

That's a bonus!
