Big Mek LugNutz
Hello all, I'm in the middle of painting my Tau/Space Wolf Armies, both of which rely on old Gamesworkshop paints, that have since been discontinued. I mainly use Shadow Grey and Astronomican Grey, but when I went to find the equivalent colors (according to GW) I was sad to find out that they were quite different from their supposed doppelgängers. Does anyone know what paints I could use to mix these? Using black and white is definitely the majority of the work (plus a little blue), but every time I have tried to mix these I have messed up. Being a little OCD, I need a formula that produces a very, vert similar color, so if anyone has one, or could experiment a bit, I would forever be in your debt :) thanks and have a good one, - BIg Mek Link to comment https://bolterandchainsword.com/topic/307253-mixing-oop-gamesworkshop-paints/ Share on other sites
Jacinda
For GW - Shadow Grey you can use: Vallejo Game Color - Sombre Grey Vallejo Model Color - Oxford Blue And for Astronomican Grey you can use: Vallejo Game Color - Heavy Bluegrey Vallejo Model Color - Pale Blue Grey Taken from a post on Dakka http://www.astronomican.com/showthread.php?21943-Citadel-(Games-Workshop)-Vallejo-and-other-paints-conparisson-table&p=362507&viewfull=1#post362507 Link to comment https://bolterandchainsword.com/topic/307253-mixing-oop-gamesworkshop-paints/#findComment-4033868 Share on other sites
Razblood
Bonus is that the Vallejo Game Color line is nearly a 1:1 match for the old Citadel line. Big Mek LugNutz
Oh wow, that is so convenient :O I also just discovered a hobby shop near me that stocks Vallejo :) Thanks so much! Any ideas about Astronomican Grey though? I know its a pretty unpopular color, I just really need an accurate match, since I use it as my first highlight.
