Kugath is there any point to this guy

Recommended Posts

Hey guys so i was planning a small allied detachment of Nurgle daemons to my nurgle themed marine list and I was comparing these 2 Kugath and the regular unclean one now I know the generic GuO is better (hes almost always my Warlord for my Daemons) but i was wondering is there any point to Kugath his only real unique abilities is his warlord trait his ability to heal nurglings and the ability to throw a poisoned large blast. so is there ever any point to taking this guy

That is his purpose, heal nurglings while marching up (the nurglings can give him cover as an intervening model for a nice cover save too) and do a crappy shot while marching. Which if you take away psychic powers is more than GUO usually do... but pretty much my GUO just sit on a point and summon spam.

He's not worth it, IMO. You're pretty much always better off with a GUO with mastery lvl 3 and 2 rewards. He'll march up the table unmolested (I stopped putting him in reserve after he failed to come in before turn 4 for a few games...).

He's not terrible, but there's not many named characters in our codex that is worth taking over a regular HQ.

I always bring 2 units of PB with instruments when I have a GUO in my army. All 3 units in reserves, and it gives my GUO essentially 3 rolls for reserves. PB also have icon, so two chances for a no scatter within 12".

I've looked at Kugath, but I just can't see him doing any better. I think I would rather take Mammon, the FW T7 daemon prince with the poison flamer if I wanted nurgle Character.
