Joe
Hey guys. I'm in the process of converting one of the Forgeworld Praetor Terminator's, and I was wondering what the best method might be for removing the decorations on the chest without damaging it too much. I'm planning on rounding it off with some green stuff later on, though, so that shouldn't be too much of an issue. old git
A sharp craft knife and a steady hand. I read it in a White Dwarf years ago (I think); "...more hobby accidents are caused by blunt craft knife blades than sharp" If you're sculpting over the top after removing the detail then a smooth finish isn't that vital. Otherwise, smooth off with an appropriately shaped needle file and finish off with a very fine grade wet and dry sandpaper. A dust mask is recommended as resin dust can be harmful. Ovidius Incertus
Definitely a sharp knife; hold the mini upside down and pull toward that rim detail carefully. Even it up with some fine grit sandpaper after you've removed the details. Only spot of concern would be the center of the torso, since you'd want to preserve the profile that the two halves meet at in the center.
