Brother Heinrich
So I have a question for the fluff gurus, I know the Crux Terminatus supposedly incorporates a fragment of the Emperor's Armor worn at the Battle of Terra. My question is whether or not the actual symbol existed during the great crusade to signify terminator-trained Marines. Hyaenidae
A Crux was used from time to time, mostly in the form of campaign awards and citations, but no; there is no specific icon for those Legionaries who don Tactical Dreadnought Warplate. Quixus
No, it did not. Compare the Legion Tartaros Termiantors to their contemporary counterparts. Cataphractii Terminators do not exist in 40K so they never have cruces. AFAIK neither FW nor GW has yet released heresy Indomitus suits, which probably won't have the crux either. Iron Hands Fanatic
While the Crux didn't exist, the symbol upon which it was based originally was still used in 30k to denote veterancy status: http://www.forgeworld.co.uk/Images/ProductCategories/elites.jpg Link to comment https://bolterandchainsword.com/topic/307464-origins-of-the-crux-terminatus/#findComment-4038825 Share on other sites
Olis
AFAIK neither FW nor GW has yet released heresy Indomitus suits, which probably won't have the crux either. If I'm not mistaken, the FW Gorgon prototypes are the closest thing we have - they are, on a practical level, precursors to the Indomitus. Quixus
IIRC the indfomitus pattern already existed before the Heresy. At least according to the Lexicanum The Gorgon Plate is a variant of the Indomitus, not the other way around, so the Indomitus pattern must have at least existed during the Heresy. Olis
If that is the case, then I take back the 'precursor' statement. I'll take a look in one of the relevant FW books. Edit - You are correct. Gorgons are variants of the Indomitus pattern. Strike my previous. I'll take a look in one of the relevant FW books. the Indomitus exists during the GC/HH era ^^ Gorgon is one of the last developed TDA's ^^ Link to comment https://bolterandchainsword.com/topic/307464-origins-of-the-crux-terminatus/#findComment-4038852 Share on other sites
Reyner
In the Imperial Fists section of Book 3 it mentions that Blood Angels and Imperial Fists use Indomitus armour quite heavily and they can both use the special assault cannon.
