Inspiration required!

There's also a ton of free tiles you can find out there on the interwbez, mostly for use with RPGs like D&D or Pathfinder, and print out on heavy cardstock. A lot might be fantasy and dungeon-esque, but I've seen some sci-fi stuff out there too.

Thanks guys! I think I've pretty much settled on a plan! I'm going to do 2 750pts forces, one Word Bearers and one Ultramarines, and use them to demo some 30K games and hopefully get some interest built up in the local area. What do you think? Should I do similar built forces or mix it up?

*wave* I played Hyaenidae some months back.  Definitely use the ZM and Blood in the Void rules to demo.  Draw up a sheet with the rules that apply in conjunction with the normal 40k rules.  Just keep it simple, and have evenly matched units on both sides, with the profiles listed on separate papers on the side the player would be with their Marine force.  Use basic rules, nothing too crazy or in depth, save that for the more experienced players.  Of course if the players all have experience,  no need to hold back on any rules.

Narrative:  Write a short narrative of what is happening, where it is occurring, and why

Attacker:  1/2 the army arriving on a preselected place and the other 1/2 random(coming thru after sweeping thru the rest of the ship)

Defender:  1/2 deploy in designated place, and the other half coming in from a random corridor(coming to the rescue of the vessel/force)

Objectives:  Make one up, and place the appropriate markers

Turns:  Keep it short, 4 turns with randomly determined game ending

Good luck!
