Re 20 years for the Scouring - the epilogue for Know No Fear is set when the Mark of Calth has reached 20 years and Ventanus is about to go into battle against Word Bearers on Calth.

That's intriguing. I'm going to have to root around for my copy of KNF now. ^_^

I would very much like to see the retribution of the Iron Hands during the Scouring. Would be extremely satisfying.

why wait, nearly every Sundered Legion novella stars them.

(despite their not being Sundered, only without a Primarch)

They were largely dispersed as a fighting force after Isstvan, the same a the Salamanders and elements of the Raven Guard. I'd say that classifies a 'Sundered' in this context.

I would agree, if the Salamanders or RG got equal billing under the "Sundered" title...but the novellas seem to sprinkle the Salamanders or RG on the various "Sundered" Iron Hands stories, and even then its usually just to be a contrast to the Iron Hand's character (which seems to be a mix of blind, stubborn and willfully dumb)

Wasn't there a group of Salamanders that got a story arc to themselves? Led by... Numeon, I think?

In the end, the question of the length of the Horus Heresy boils down to one simple question: When did it end?

Did it end with the death of the Warmaster? With the last traitors (not counting NL and AL doing their thing around the galaxy) retreating to the Eye? I'd go as far as to say that for some the Heresy isn't over, it's simply been renamed "the Long War" ;) (Yes I play 40K Chaos :P )

Oh man, don't start that. That's a can of worms right there. It's like asking a finicky history teacher when ww2 started and finished. Out come the countries and all the minor conflicts that overlap, out comes the various interpretations... rolleyes.gif

In theory WWI never ended, with the Spanish civil war, Russian-Finish war, The Anglo- Irish war, and others, and ran into the begining of WWII, so....
