Horus Heresy and Army Builder?

Recommended Posts

Battlescribe has 30k datafiles made by our very own Milicsnt you can easily google those for use instead.

Here's a link to the Post where Millicant (I assume) has posted a link to his files...

My friend has 30k files for army builder, but I've noticed that the Battlescribe ones are more complete with the exception of not specifying which type of combi or power wepon

Combi-Weapons and Power Weapons dont really need to be specified since all variants - Plasma, Flamer, Melta, Volkite, Grenade for Combis and Axe Mauls and Swords for Weapons - all cost the same points wise.

Well, Power Daggers cost half as much as other Power Weapons... msn-wink.gif

And they're a specific wargear to the Alpha Legion that only becomes available only when their LA:AL is chosen and is listed differently as such. Also, wasn't mentioned in the Mini List in which I specified the Weapons that fall under the Selection msn-wink.gif

In a tournament setting it loses out if the person is running ambiguous or counts as weapons. It's nice to be able to look at someone's list and know exactly what they have in it

Yeah, sure in that case specify but, its not something that has to be 100% integrated into the system when you could just as easily specify which Combi-Weapon and Power Weapon types are taken.

I mean, if you're making a Tourney list and you just Copy Paste your Battlescribe roster and send it off to a T.O without double checking it and making it as precise and clear as possible, imo, thats on you not the guy whos making the Data File entries who probably has other things to worry about :p

Hey there,

Thank you gentlemen for linking my battlescribe catalogues! I'd like to think that they are the most complete list-building product available for the Horus Heresy. Things like specific power weapons I feel clutter the options, especially in an option-rich setting like 30k, rather than provide additional value.

As always, please let me know if you find any errors or want to suggest improvements! I'm eager to keep my catalogues as user-friendly and community-oriented as possible.

To each their own; my group is probably just more anal about list building and being specific.

They certainly are the most complete 30k catalogues; it was just a surprise when I went from the 40k catalogue (which does have them) as i hadn't seen 'the one option for all' style before.

I do understand where it would an over saturation of options (centurion/consul, terminators, legion command squad) but other units that can take either power or combi weapons wouldn't be too cluttered. Additionally, I noticed that you did distinguish between caedere weapons for World Eater Rampagers

Thanks for the replys.

I downloaded Battlescribe and can't seem to figure out how to use it to build an Imperial Fist Stone Gauntlet army. Could someone explain how I can do that?

Have you also downloaded and imported the 30k Data File from the repository? if so:

  1.  Click New Roster
  2. Name the Roster, Insert points limit, etc.
  3. Click the drop-down arrow for Game System, Select Warhammer 30k.
  4. Once Done, Under the 'Forces' Box, click Add.
  5. Force Type: Age of Darkness, Catalog: Legiones Astartes: Crusade Army List
    • Note: Force Type can be changed depending on which "FoC" you're using such as ZM (Attacker, Defender, Combatant), Leviathan, etc.
  6. Once done, click OK.
  7. Under Available Entries, scroll to the bottom and select the Legion Entry and add it to the roster (double click or highlight and click select entry).
  8. Under Roster Selections, click on Legion Astartes and on the Far Right, select VII: Imperial Fists; this should unlock all the Imperial Fists specific Entries.
  9. Once done, Select an HQ that has Master of the Legion (Polux, Sigismund, Preator) or Dorn if you're using him in the Lord of War slot.
  10. Once the RoW is selected, it should appropriately shift unit selection entries around to account for the RoW and Legion specific Wargear should appear where appropriate.

That should be it to get you started.

Slipstreams, thanks for the detailed instructions.  I'm not sure I would have found that on my own.  I'm typing up a list now.  :)

I'm pretty impressed with Battle Scribe!  I just picked up the Pro version.  I've been trying to get a clean white interface like the one Battle Scribe uses in Army Builder for some time with no success, even after working with Wolflair support.

Seconded, thanks Slips! :tu:

Brainwashed I totally agree. Battlescribe is amazing. The guy who makes it just does it in his off time and is super supportive of the community. I can't say enough good things about him and this product.
