Kruso
Hey guys Just wanted to stop by and say hello. I'm a long time lurker and decided to make an account to perhaps participate in conversations. I recently got back into 40k and decided to go with the Grey Knights. Back in the day I used to play Blood Angels when they had their White Dwarf codex (4th to 5th ed.) so I'm not completely new. I even had an account here back then, but I can't for the life of me remember what it was, that's why I needed a new one :) As for model purchases so far I got Libby, 15 termies, NDK, 10 Interceptors, so pretty standard eh? I've started painting the Interceptors and I'm glad to notice my patience has grown since my last painted mini. Hoping to post some pics once I get them ready and manage to take good pictures :) Anyways, that's that about me. Looking forward to be part of this great community. - Kruso Link to comment https://bolterandchainsword.com/topic/307726-new-guy-stopping-by-to-say-hello/ Share on other sites
Reclusiarch Darius
Hi Kruso, welcome to Titan. If you want to get some insight into how Grey Knights work in 7th, be sure to check out the Primers pinned at the top of the forum. Regarding your models, keen to see pics, we love painted stuff here. I'd look at getting another Dreadknight, two is standard for most lists nowadays (one isn't enough sadly). I'd get another box of Terminators, in case you wanna run 20 at some point (you won't need more than 20 though). Interceptors are a solid choice, I find falchions are great on them. I'd probably also get another Strike box (ie the 10-man one) and build them up as Purifiers. Also consider a Raven for delivering said Purifiers, and general fire support, AA duties...it's an amazing Flyer especially for us. Kruso
Thanks Darius! I actually remember your advice from some previous threads, no worries, another NDK is on top of my shopping list and I've read the Primers. Good stuff. As for modes, I was planning on building one of terminators as Inquisitor and rest from his box as various alternative weapon choices. Purifiers are something I've been thinking of too, however I got a long way to go until I'm able to play some bigger games. Reclusiarch Darius
Cool. TDA Inquisitors are a great Ally choice, they're like Librarians who can also fight and shoot well. Purifiers really need the Raven or an Allied drop pod to be effective, so yeah, they can wait till larger games. Turn 1 Terminators takes a while to learn, but it's so satisfying to pull it off. At first I thought I'd ally in Space Wolves for Long Fangs and Drop pods for Purifiers, but then I changed my mind to just get Inquisitor and some trash to sit behind Aegis. It's less points and servo-skulls are nice from what I've read. Prot
Welcome Kruso! It might be a fairly standard start there but where we go from there makes for a great journey. There's so much more that I want to explore. It might not all be top tier ideas I have, but there's still some pretty cool tricks to explore. I think you're just in time to jump into ETL if you want to for adding your knew Titan force into the fray. We could use the numbers, so hopefully you'll consider it! Hopefully you'll find lots of inspiration in these pages. jeffersonian000
Looks you at off to a great start, Kruso! My only recommendations are to look into getting a second NDK, and maybe adding Draigo to your list. Then we'll be playing mirror armies! It's less points and servo-skulls are nice from what I've read. Blood Angels are another option. Also, we're yet to see if the new Marine codex will have FA empty pods. Fingers crossed. Servo-skulls are a decent substitute, but they don't protect you from Interceptor in the same way as a pod. Also, servo-skulls can be removed if the enemy Scout or Infiltrate near them.
