New GK formation

Oh yea, 13th Crusade was another awesome hobby moment.

I can't understand why GW has never revisited that 'golden era' of the game. They want to invent new ways to make money? This is it. A global campaign with codexes tied in, and some fun rules. I realize some people really moaned some of the armies that came out of that campaign.... Eldar Portals running around, 13th company, etc.

But man it was fun, and overall the hobby was on fire.... it worked on many levels. Hobbiests got new models, 'historians' got to live and contribute to a crusade, we got more fluff in the game, gamers got something to really play for... I think it's a win for everyone.

I would definitely pay to get one of those rolling again... I'd pay in the form of the releases, books, etc. I loved and really miss that stuff.

Worst thing is, I missed the train on that whole thing :( I was just getting into my Tau when 13th was wrapping up.

I'm disappointed we get shafted hard in Pandorax (our only Formation is Assassins...and it's horribly out of date too, hooray), and in Shield of Baal we're only barely mentioned. It's really sad. Grey Knights could really use some love in the Formation department, The only one that isn't Apoc-only is the Brotherhood Formaton in the codex (which is jank).

Where? Somewhere else in the book? It's not on the GK page linked at the start of the thread.

It's twice as useless as an Apoc only Formation then. Given the inbuilt 'unbound' nature of Apoc...

At the start of the section, it says all of the formations are Apocalypse. Could be misremembering, but I'm pretty that's what I read.

If GW really wanted to make money they could just publish Formation books with multiple races and factions in it every so often. They could make units, that were previously not good, better within that formation. Therefore making people want to purchase or otherwise use units they have shelved while still being relevant in the game.

But that's logical, fair, and reasonable ;)

It's also not as profitable.
