Tenebris
It is not purple, it is indigo, among the hardest colors to replicate in nature. Valued for its quality of texture and tone in different lights. How it is done GW style? The official guide is very simple in this aspect and the result quite close to the real thing. Macgargge Blue as base color (spray) Druchii Violet as the wash color If you want a more darker purple you apply more wash, if brighter you apply less. I have tried this recipe past year for ETL and it is IMO one of the best looking color combinations. It is austere yes, but also has this depth which is hard to find. Highlight it with Kabalite Green and you get the shimmering, scale like, effect typical of the Alpha Legion. Cold tones, Alpha Legion is defined by cold colors. Daemon2027
From STC_Logisengine on dakkadakka about his purple/ indigo used on his Legion 'The indigo used for the Legion is a blend, I think the closest Citadel Colours would be Kantor blue and Xereus purple, maybe 70/30. The base layer is then cut with a little black to darken it down, first block-painting is a 50:50 mix of the dark base and the stock blend, second block is pure blend, for stages of highlight the base is cut with rising amounts of white. Remember to use a lot of water so the paint doesn't get thick.' (maybe even some Angels Revenant for an upcoming project) I was thinking about using FW's Alpha Legion recipe, but changing it to use clear red and blue mixed. then do clear blue on the bottom 1/2 and clear red on the upper 1/2. or something like that anyways.
