Looking for House Col'khak info

Planning my ETL vow #2 (while #1 is coming along nicely). I've decided on House Col'khak for the Istvaan V associations, but beyond a brief reference in HH2: Massacre and the section on oath-bound households, I'm coming up blank for resources. Is anyone aware of any other information out there, especially relating to their markings and heraldry?

via conquest:

Since its inception in the early years of the Great Crusade, the Col'Khak Collective has followed the strictures of the Sidon Protocols, effectively bonding it to the Atar-Median Forge. The warriors of Col'Khak have trained to function flawlessly alongside the Atar-Median Taghmata and the Titans of the Legio Atarus ("Firebrands"), and have benefitted from the continuous supply of Magaera and Styrix pattern Knight armours from the forges of Atar-Median. Though many conservative knightly Households consider the Styrix to be a dark and malevolent pattern of armour, amongst the Mechanicus-oathed House Col'Khak, the Styrix is held in higher esteem, especially among those scions who have undergone extensive augmentation in honour of their enigmatic patrons and share their antipathy for the weakness of flesh. The pitiless thrall-Knights of House Col'Khak are renowned for fielding entire formations of these machines in support of the Legio Atarus, sweeping clear enemy infantry from the Titan's feet in a furious blast of energy beams and cleansing radiation. Such is the level of integration between the House and its Mechanicum allies that the Archmagos Prelate, or lead Princeps of a battlegroup to which the warriors of Col'Khak are assigned, is treated with some veneration and granted full authority over the assembled Knights. Indeed, the warriors of Col'Khak have long since adapted many of the rites and practices of the Cult Mechanicus for their own use, treating all technological artefacts as precious relics and heirlooms of the Collective. Many even voluntarily accept extensive levels of augmentation, although aesthetically choose to remain human in overall appearance. It is said that many of the oldest scions of Col'Khak are little more than preserved cerebral matter and life support systems. Outside their Knight armour, they appear as almost animate statuary to some in the most extreme cases, their gilded and argent plated bodies matching an ideal of human form. After theDropsite Massacre on Istvaan V, and the sacrifice of a full demi-Legion of the Legio Atarus and their supporting Knights, the warriors of Col'Khak clamoured for assignment to mustering maniples of Titans, eager to seek revenge for their brethren slain in the opening moves of Horus' rebellion.

for the colours: as these are a mechanicum bound house, i would use red (maybe even the legio atarus red!)

for the symbols, you could use some icons from the legio atarus banner:

i guess you will need atleast the forge icon of atar median^^

Yeah, was thinking that would have to be the way to go: pulling in some Atarus imagery. Course, with that little to go on, I think I may be able to combine my Col'khak and September Knights decal ideas (the former for forge world imagery; the latter for personal imagery).

Necromancy!!!

I am also interested in House Col'Khak, because I decided that my entry in Forgeworld's titan contest was going to be from Legio Atarus, and then I started thinking of building a knight house to support the titan if I win it, and I have no self control, so... we'll see. It'll probably happen even if I don't win a titan. I'll just have to buy a titan later with actual money instead.

Anyway, my personal plan was to use a combination of Legio Atarus and generic feudal imagery. The Knights themselves will be red, but I'll use white as a contrasting color, Legio Atarus style.

Are there any other canonical knight houses that are vassals of titan legios? And if so, what's the relationship between their heraldry? That might give us valuable context.

With Col'khak, you are taking a risk as they could very well get official colours and heraldry, even possibly a transfer sheet by the time the black books are done with. They were a little footnote in massacre, and then became decently fleshed out with fluff in conquest. I personally think it's a matter of time before we see them formatted with a painted rendering like other HH knight houses. Something to consider if that in any way affects your decision :)

Hm. Maybe what I'll do is paint the skeletons, do the basing, and then attache the primed armor plates and do them later...
