AM/DA/Wolves

Ok, so I want to do a 3 source list using some Traitors and I am trying to get some synergy going.

I saw that ezekiel + 4 DA librarian formation and said to myself wow why would I ever use wyrdvane psykers or primaris. Points are going to be tight guys so I need help thinking of a warlord/HQ for my CAD.

AM Primary detachment

LoW- Shadowsword

HQ ...

Fast attack- Rough Riders (god I want these guys to be good)

PCS- flamers and grenade launchers

Platoons x4 blobbed

another platoon to go into my

Fortification Plasma Obliterator

Allied detachment space wolves

HQ Wolf Lord on thunderwolf with TH, SS, artificer armor and max wolves for ablative wounds (attaches to the rough riders?)

tactical squad

DA Psyker formation

ezekiel + 4 ml2 librarians rolling malefic, biomancy, and divination (go with the SW tactical squad)

This list has 11-16 WC dice to summon with and buff up every turn as well as some hard hitting units and blobs for holding objectives. I'm thinking of a lord comissar into the blob so they don't run. I'm afraid of this list being taken apart bit by bit though. Just theorizing. Thoughts?

Ehem.. Anyway.

I do like the idea to be fair, although I wonder if you wouldn't be a bit light on bodies on the board, especially since you have a Platoon in the Plasma Tower. In your current incarnation I would add a CCS for the Orders and if that fails, just a Lord Com.

But, here is my suggestion for improvement. Drop the Shadowsword.

Make both Platoons 30 in size, so you have 2x 30 dudes. Add a Priest (Dark Demagogue) in each so that they do not run. Add a bare bones CCS for orders to camp an objective.

On the SW side, add a unit of Long Fangs with Heavy Weapons to sit inside the Plasma Tower and do some dakka.

I would suggest running Champions of Fenris, because you mandatory choices become Elite. You can either take two naked solo Servitors for 10pts each and call it a day. Or you could get some Iron Priests on Thunderwolves with Cyber Wolves for more ablative wounds. You could also skip the Rough Riders and buy two Iron Priests and Lord (both IP with 4 dogs each and lord with 2 dogs) and models their dogs as Rough Riders, that way you have 3 big tanks and 10 counts-as Rough Riders following.

Hows that? ;)

Ah thanks guys. Yeah CCS sounds the way to go and I'll just pick up some priests. Maybe I should add in a Imperial Knight when I take out the shadowsword too? I have barebones SW still (hence the rough riders as I don't have thunderwolf cavalry nor the points) but I think you are right with the longfangs in the Fort. I was worried about overheats killing them but I just read that they do get their armor saves.

I have about 50 models I was contemplating as conscripts bubblewrap do you guys think that could be useful here since I don't have enough bodies?

Forgot DA don't get biomany- maybe telepathy for chance for invis then.

ok so take out shadow sword, split blob into 2 30x, add 30-50 conscripts, add 1 priest to each unit, use CCS as HQ. Got it. I'd prolly add astropath for more telepathy rolls and WC, as well as master of ordinance for another blast template.

This sounds like a potential 12-17 dice to deny my friends invisiblity and eldar powers with. Even more if I decide to add primaris psykers.

I applaud your creative use of codecies, however, I must condemn you as you are a filthy HERETIC!!

Seriously, though, when you can, Get some TWC, they are hilarious amounts of fun, I wish I had more of them. I need 2 more squads, and then more to make each squad 6 men each, and a lord on a TWM. But that is not a discussion for the Imperial Guard Forum.

If you want to take this to more points, I'd add the Superheavy back in, as for taking a knight, well, the knight can be very useful, either as a distraction, or as a great support unit.

I take a Knight Paladin for the long range bombardment he can offer, especially with the new codex, I intend to get a knight warden to further support my troops.
