Long Dead Frostmourne Awakens

Recommended Posts

Afternoon Gents.

After a break from the hobby for a few months i am back.

Last time i was hear i was halfway through an Ultramarine 30K force. Which got sidelined when i took a break.

Now i am back into the hobby and wanting to try something a little different.

After a recent splurge into GW and buying a few boxes of the Skitarii models I am thinking of a new Unified Imperium Force.

I am thinking of a mainly AdMech Force, Accompanied by Solar Auxilia units, Allied to Knights (3 probably, and all based on Final Fantasy characters), and finally, a contingent of Black Templars (Some of you may remember this was a fleeting fancy of mine before hand) These Templars will probably be using the IF Templar kits from FW and painted in the Yellow and Black scheme, especially with Sigismund coming up soon.

What does everyone think of that as an idea for a collection/ Force. Tabletop it will be wont all be represented, but i like collecting and modelling to a unified theme.

Also, anyone got any ideas on a colour scheme for the AdMech that will either compliment or contrast to the IF/BT. I was thinking of mimicking the yellow and black but not sure that would look good. Any thoughts?

as i'll use a black/yellow scheme for my admec stuff too ... yep it looks good xD

something like this:

Haha very true, it will probably end up using the 40k codex.

My local group didnt like my UM  30k Army, which is very disappointing.

But now you've got a legit Legion Rules to use for them :x!

I would be very surprised if they said they were chill with Eldar and Necrons but not 30k Legion Lists...

Literally in my Local Meta, we have 3 Necron players who are close to giving up as their games are so boring. A troll of a kid player who uses Eldar, with 9 FW Hornets, and wins every game by turn 2/3...

But im the only player in the campaign to have had two people walk out because my Praetor is "Cheaty"

For Real? They think a Standard Preator is "cheaty"?

...Ask them to give you another shot and Bring Sigismund.

..or any Primarch for that matter.

Hell, bring a Legion Glaive.

Well im allowed to bring Ventanus or Guilliman to the campaign games.

But i have kind of shelved the UM while i collect them slowly. Iv sold some Orks and Blood Angels to fund some Mech, but im getting lost in that army idea already.

Well, if you ever have the Cash and desire to make an "Eldar and Necrons will cry" list, ring me up :p That'll show them.. *grumbles* Base Preator Cheaty..HAH! *grumble*

Hmm. Makes it a bit harder.. But:

+++ IF CC (1505pts) +++

++ Legiones Astartes: Crusade Army List (Age of Darkness) (1505pts) ++

+ HQ (230pts) +

Sigismund (230pts)
··Master of the Legion [Pride of the Legion]

+ Troops (605pts) +

Legion Veteran Tactical Squad (310pts) [Furious Charge, 8x Legion Veteran Space Marines, Legion Vexilla, Melta Bombs, Pair of Lightning Claws, 5x Power Weapon]
··Legion Veteran Sergeant [Artificer Armour, Power Weapon]

Legion Veteran Tactical Squad (295pts) [Furious Charge, 7x Legion Veteran Space Marines, Legion Vexilla, Melta Bombs, Pair of Lightning Claws, 5x Power Weapon]
··Legion Veteran Sergeant [Artificer Armour, Power Weapon]

+ Elites (130pts) +

Legion Astartes [VII: Imperial Fists]

Very Small, Very Elite but very hard hitting and decently Resilient Force. The Squad with Sigismund would be better off with all their Weapons not being Unwieldy due to him giving himself and the Squad +1 initiative if they Charge. Couple that with Furious Charge and, well, good Luck Surviving that. Also, the Melta Immune LR will laugh at 40k Lists betting on Melta to kill them. You also have Squad-wide melta bombs to deal with anything else.

They also still all have their Bolters for any shooting if they need to. 4 Attacks per Veteran on the charge means they may usually blend whatever they encounter.
Not to mention that, Whoever in the squad Challenges gains re-rolls to hit due to LA:IF

Wow, shizzer, thats a wicked hurty list.

The Pain will be Brought!

Good thing you mentioned your skitarii will be your shooty gunline part of the list or this would have come out very different.

I'm still all huffed up about that basic Preator comment...Sigismund'll show em!

Also, if you ever want to make a Necron on Eldar Jetbike player cry, Spam as many Volkite Culverin Squads one of them with an Attached Master of Signal for Good measure and sarges with Augury Scanners.

Me too, that's ridiculous. It's not even like the Praetor is the strongest thing just in 30k! Let alone compared to the mess that is 40k balance.

If only Frostmourne played World Eaters.

A Fed Angron is a sight to behold. Especially with supporting Red Butchers.

Yes, you could run this instead of Tac Vets without a Rite of War and get pretty much the Same Result. For Some reason I didn't think of this...Good catch.

Only problem is, Standard Apothecaries cant join Templar Squads since they're not in the provision in LA:CAL which includes Phalanx Warders. Meaning, they'd have to be Primus Medicae.

Thats the only Stickler.

Tbh, I'm not a great fan of Apothecary's in squads anyway. And would probably have spent those points on more Skitarri.

But both are good lists. And not that expensive if I mix the Templar kits with either Despoiler kits or maybe a new assault kit if one comes out for 40k.
