Ulrik_Ironfist
I used my Lord commissar for the first time today and he performed well, He didn't execute any guardsmen or do anything retarded. He instead lead my Sappers (Grenader Demo Melta vets) in a valiant effort to destroy a squadron of Piranhas. Ultimately they failed, but it was inspiring. I was wondering what experiences y'all have had. Like Catachans (apparently), commissars don't last long in my unit (according to my lore) unless they have proved themselves to be tactically flexible. march10k
A few editions ago, my commie led 50 conscripts to charge a flyrant and grind him down over three turns...before themselves being eaten by raveners! At the time, commies were LD10 and took command of a unit upon executing the leader for cowardice in the face of the enemy...and there was no requirement to fight your way to the front of a melee and expose yourself to enemy claws...so commissarial to lead from behind, lol! elmo
Personally I think we are misunderstood. Deep down, we are not the strict, no nonsense, disciplinarian, God Emperor loving Commissars that everyone seems to think we are... we just behave that way ;) Link to comment https://bolterandchainsword.com/topic/308069-thoughts-on-commissars/#findComment-4056204 Share on other sites
Ulrik_Ironfist
I had some trepidation about using the Lord Commissar, but since summary execution only comes into play on a failed leadership test, and the Lord Commissar spreads his Ld 10 to the squad, he's very unlikely to BLAM! anyone. Unless I understood that that entirely wrong. Link to comment https://bolterandchainsword.com/topic/308069-thoughts-on-commissars/#findComment-4056390 Share on other sites
