Yodhrin
I have a wee ritual whenever I start a new army, in which I build a playlist of thematically appropriate music to have on in the background while I work. Mechanicus, however, are proving difficult to pin down; I have a few dark ambient tracks with an industrial edge that are quite good, a selection of tracks by Sybreed(weird metal/New Romantic synthpop mashup), and a few of the tunes from the Defiance OST(Scrapworks is particularly appropriate). Beyond that I'm a bit stuck. Hence this thread; anyone have any recommendations? Not just of what you listen to generally, but of music you feel genuinely plays to the themes of the faction. Father Mehman
"Metal" by either its creator, Gary Numan, or covered by Trent Reznor (ala NIN) has been my go-to song for the Adeptus Mechanicus. Really, I'd go with anything by Gary Numan- he does no wrong. You heard me, B&C: he does no wrong... I was trying to find some dark ambient to listen to last month and there are some killer hour or so long tracks on YouTube. You probably know about them already. Grand Master Laertes
"Humans are dead" by Flight of the Concorde, if you want a fun song. Or most of the songs from the "01011001" album by Ayreon, if you want some prog for your atmosphere. Pudelhund
I challenge anyone to find a more machine spirited composition than this piece from the father of the synthesizer himself, Milton Babbitt: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=QySxbkRmYwE It's so free and beautiful. Break free from the base patternistic limitations of the human mind! FREE YOURSELF AND DISCIPLINE YOUR EARS TO THE LOGIC OF THE MACHINE SPIRIT! Battybattybats
The hymns to the Omnissiah are many and varied, for every incarnation of the god-machine. To which i present a variety of example suggestions of diverse mood and application from the soothing of enraged machine-spirits to their awakening.Various tracks by Les Rockets especially Synthetic ManEverything by Gary NumenCovenant especially the song BulletTangerine Dream, particularly most of Poland (especially the Tangent tracks), Ricochet, PolarisThe Glitch Mob (Animus Vox especially, which i listen to when getting ready to go play my Techpriest character D Gamma in the rogue trader RPG)The soundtrack to the C64 version of the original Turrican (i think this is what Skitarii units might hear the filtered version of Infiltrators signals as)Kraftwork's the Man Machine and RadioactivityAnd of course the piece i often have in the background when working on my miniatures especially the Knights of House Cydonia And here is a sacristan intoning that ancient Hymnal "Mode M" attributed according to folkloric tradition to the ancient composer Dia Lup.http://i48.photobucket.com/albums/f250/supreme_martian_overlord/DSCF0017.jpg Link to comment https://bolterandchainsword.com/topic/308309-hymns-to-the-omnissiahmechanicus-music-recommendations/#findComment-4062477 Share on other sites
