Yeah maybe, another paint I'll need to buy then haha. I don't really get it, it went really green over the grey and I was expecting it to be the same but it's definitely not as green.

Silver isnt really grey either due to the metallic flakes in the paint to make it shiny. And even if you removed those, it still wouldnt be a gray..gray.. Itd be a bit different.

I didn't mean that it's grey, just that I expected the green to have a similar effect on it that it has on the grey.

like Bob Ross said: theres no mistakes, just happy accidents :p

Maybe you got a bit more pigment this time around in you wash application? Its already happened to me with my Cassandora Yellow; if you look at my most recently painted Fists, theyre considerably more orange than my others even though the scheme has stayed relatively the same.

It could also be the way metallics react with light and stuff...?

Haha :P yeah maybe, it's the same pot though, I dunno. It's probably something like that yeah, ah well. I'm gonna give the FW paints a go when I next make an order I think, and I might try a green glaze first like you suggested as well. Still want to test a white scar, an emperors children, death guard, world eater, ultramarine, etc...

Its not helped by the fact that washes when dry give a very matte finish too, so it completely kills the silver.

Maybe dilute the wash or go with glazes. I have only just gotten guillemann blue and bloodletter so no idea what they will be like.

Maybe go greythen highlight/ drybrush silver then use either wash or shade to get the green grey/ metallic look?

PS really like the Raven Guard smile.png

I found with washes over sliver you want to do several thin washes as opposed to one big one. This is useful because in between washes you can highlight or drybrush certain areas silver to get a slight colour variant. Also if you want a shine, add some gloss varnish to the last wash, not much, just a little. Will give a little shine. Keep going they are looking good :)

I actually really like it. It has a seafoam / grey look to it, very gritty and doom & gloom, my kinda style. I'd do it, you'd definitely stand out amongst the sea of SoH players (and if you don't I will).

That's actually very compelling haha. I'll try it on a few more models, and try it with the green glaze first too. I do like it definitely, I just wasn't sure it was very SoH.
