New Monday ForgeWorld Bulletin is up, and we get some sneak peeks at some upcoming Alpha Legion upgrades.

The Forge World Studio designers are never ones to rest on their laurels. After showing some incredible models recently at the Grand Opening of Warhammer World, they’re already working hard on more, and with the Forge World Open Day only weeks away, it's no wonder! Just this week I spied some new upgrade kits for the Alpha Legion, which is quite an achievement as the XXth Legion are usually much more secretive...

I'm liking it, but I hope the Hydras on the chest get some heads..

If Armillus Dynat is any indication, it's about three weeks. He was previewed on March 9, and went up for pre-order on March 27.

Given that we still haven't had everything that was available at the Grand Opening (Warlord Titan, Guillman and Sigismund), and the Open Day is just over a month away, my guess is that these will be available to purchase on the Open Day and for general release in the following weeks.

We also still haven't seen the Night Lord or, more relevantly to the discussion, the Alpha Legion transfers. Could quite easily release the upgrade set and both transfer sets in a week, and Guilliman and Sigismund would be a good match as a Character week.

Yes, I'm being hopeful: my birthday is coming up and I really want to get these upgrades around then ;)

Personally I think the helmet and chest are weird at best and laughable at worst, I keep looking at the helmet and seeing a strange looking mouth.

The chest plate is not especially stylish or imposing sad.png its definitely missed the mark for me. I would have at least expected some scales or nice chain designs.

I don't think they tried hard enough to make the alpha legion iconography subtle enough to suit them, instead we get 1 big alpha, omega and hydra plonked on the armour, which doesn't really fit in my opinion.

The AL don't always want to be subtle and hide their identity though, so identifying features aren't so bad, although the helmet looks a bit odd. It's worth bearing in mind that these are only 1 of 5 different variants that you'll see as well, the other torsos and heads might be better.

EDIT: Having just looked again, is that Mk V plate the AL model is wearing?
