Sororita Katya
I understand the colour differs, but I still think I'm gonna try the red on one. It looks good in my head despite natural boundaries :P if not I've decided I'll swap to white. :) Thank you all for helping! Sororita Katya
http://i61.tinypic.com/1zoyb00.jpg These are my priests that I just picked up for each of my units. Really like the sisters of Sigmar models, they're not scantily clad and suit my all female theme :) http://i60.tinypic.com/z0lye.jpg These superiors I'm thinking of using in my inquisitorial retinue or just using them as cannonesses, or even a Uriah Jacobus filler...what do you guys think? WarriorFish
They look good, I'd use them as retinue. Canonesses are part of the Sisterhood so should be wearing the same power armour and such I think. *Furyou Miko
I'd say they could do with some weapon swaps, but otherwise, shiny. Link to comment https://bolterandchainsword.com/topic/308775-the-order-of-the-calling-mother/page/2/#findComment-4147314 Share on other sites
Sororita Katya
I like the hammers, was going to get rid of the comets on them and try to get in fleurs or inquisition =][=in there instead, although I have never worked with metal and wouldn't have a clue how to make them from green stuff Link to comment https://bolterandchainsword.com/topic/308775-the-order-of-the-calling-mother/page/2/#findComment-4147376 Share on other sites
*Furyou Miko
Easiest way is to get some Instant Mold from t'internet and make some molds off Sisters models that already have fleurs on, then use them to create the icons out of green stuff. Aqui
Your profile says you're in Australia, so here's one place you'd be able to get "Oyumaru Pro" aka Instant Mold: http://ozcrafts.com.au/Oyumaru-Pro-Instant-Mould-70g-P3118937.aspx This is an etsy shop that seems to ship to the land down under too. Not sure whether it's cheaper than the link above, but might be worth a look: https://www.etsy.com/listing/150065884/oyumaru-pro-instant-mould-70g-packs-12 Link to comment https://bolterandchainsword.com/topic/308775-the-order-of-the-calling-mother/page/2/#findComment-4147695 Share on other sites
Sororita Katya
So there's nowhere that just makes tiny fleur de leis? Although after reading it...it does sound very easy...still dubious as my crafting skills are horrible :P Link to comment https://bolterandchainsword.com/topic/308775-the-order-of-the-calling-mother/page/2/#findComment-4147739 Share on other sites
Aqui
So there's nowhere that just makes tiny fleur de leis? I've seen some metal ones used for necklaces on sites such as etsy. Not sure if they're suitable for your needs though. *Furyou Miko
Not really small enough for your purposes, no, although you might be able to find something on a cake decorating website. Ironheaded
Did you finalize your Order's colors, Katya? Link to comment https://bolterandchainsword.com/topic/308775-the-order-of-the-calling-mother/page/2/#findComment-4164790 Share on other sites
Sororita Katya
I'll be going with the purple theme :) Link to comment https://bolterandchainsword.com/topic/308775-the-order-of-the-calling-mother/page/2/#findComment-4164975 Share on other sites
Ironheaded
Well, I grabbed my Sister's test model and trying out your them. WOW.. this is a toughie, Katya. Is that going to be metallic golds or yellows for the trim portions? Whichever it is, I recommend you paint those FIRST. Then you can work in the larger surfaces. I have a nice violet ink for lining colors now, and that's working with a glaze medium mixed to it. I'm on white primer. You might have other results working on black primer. I photoshopped the highlights for testing. My purple glaze was way too dark and rich. Maybe a black armor wash glaze would work better to mute the shadows down? http://www.gotnurbs.com/ironheaded/OoCM.png Methinks the lavenders and magentas in your avatar picture are kinda like your goal, Katya? Sororita Katya
The purple would be a lot darker, more like Cadbury purple and then a burnished gold, even the robes add just a pinch more of a dirty cream colour. Naminé
Seems like a nice enough colour scheme to me on the model. I say if you like it, then definitely go for it! Ironheaded
Here's the image before i photoshopped it http://www.gotnurbs.com/ironheaded/rawImage.png EEEEEEEEEEEEEEK Emperor's Children!! Sororita Katya
http://i58.tinypic.com/14nz3sz.jpg This is the closest scheme to mine if you swap them all around, keep the bronzey gold but with highlight. The robe colour becomes the armour and the robes become cream Link to comment https://bolterandchainsword.com/topic/308775-the-order-of-the-calling-mother/page/2/#findComment-4165766 Share on other sites
Ironheaded
The color of purple you want... it's basically called "grape" here in the US. I got that color, easy. The Lilac color I used would be the highlight color, straight from pot. Sororita Katya
Ahh cool, the only colour I could think to describe it would be Cadbury purple I guess. Ironheaded
Can nearly call it Imperial Purple, which is prolly darker... from Rome Imperial times, not 40k Imperium. That's a good gold in the photo Prolly OK to do black primed mini's, with your choice of colors. I think i got the right base color. P3's "Beaten Purple" http://store.privateerpress.com/beatenpurple.aspx But it's just so weird. I bought the pot of paint to paint up some emperor's children noise marines Link to comment https://bolterandchainsword.com/topic/308775-the-order-of-the-calling-mother/page/2/#findComment-4166327 Share on other sites
Sororita Katya
Yeah that's pretty much perfect, although I've only ever used GW paints so was just going to make my colour through them Link to comment https://bolterandchainsword.com/topic/308775-the-order-of-the-calling-mother/page/2/#findComment-4166392 Share on other sites
Ironheaded
Actually, I use alot of craft paints. Things I can get from mega-stores for 50cents-$1 for a 2 fluid oz bottle. Great for basecoating large amounts of models, terrain boards, buildings, tole painting and general craft and hobby. Thick paints that need thinning with windex:paint about 3:2 for airbrushes Few brand names of latex acrylic paints. Delta Ceramcoat FolkArt AppleBarrel lighter shades really dont cover well, but dark ones are awesome. sedibear
I actually did convert and use those Sisters of Sigmar models as my Priests and Canoness. The Matriarch I used as Priest with Mace of Valaan. You can see her on the lower right. I don't take too many photos of my stuff haha this was from a tournament I participated in a few months back Link to comment https://bolterandchainsword.com/topic/308775-the-order-of-the-calling-mother/page/2/#findComment-4166890 Share on other sites
Sororita Katya
When I saved the picture and tried to zoom in it's still really blurry, so I can barely see her. Although it's glad to know the sisters of Sigmar models are still kicking, they're great sculpts :) Link to comment https://bolterandchainsword.com/topic/308775-the-order-of-the-calling-mother/page/2/#findComment-4167083 Share on other sites
sedibear
They are! that one with the nunchucks sticking to her hood is a pain to convert, though. Simple weapon swaps do wonders with those Sigmar models.
