Sororita Katya
*does best impression of the movie trailer voice* THIS SUMMER!... - R&D on the entire line is complete and the full plastic range is ready for rollout including two new units (possibly rumoured to be dominions and retributors). It also includes the following; * 5 model combo unit Sisters infantry kit * 3 model Sisters unit on 50mm bases kit * 5 model Sisters unit on 32mm bases kit (verified to be different from the infantry unit listed above) * Sororitas combo unit vehicle "A" kit. * Sororitas combo unit vehicle "B" kit. * Sororitas walker/ monstrous creature kit * 3 clam pack, Sororitas characters These rumours were collected from various outlets and posted on BoLS near the start of the year. Hastings and Faeit have then added that they believe Sisters will be included in the new 40k starter pack either alongside a random space marine chapter or used as an allied detatchment within the force. Enemy unknown but presumed to be chaos. Although this has also been stated that they may of seen the beginnings of a Adepta Sororitas starter box instead. What do you guys think of all this? sedibear
I've seen these exact rumors so many times over so many years. It happens when it happens. :) Link to comment https://bolterandchainsword.com/topic/308811-sisters-rumours/#findComment-4073474 Share on other sites
graysparrow
Yep, new year, same rumors. Pics or it's not happening. ...but hey, i'm not going to let a little thing like reality get in the way of wishlisting what I want under the guise of guessing what each item could possibly be, and neither should anyone else! I'll go first. :D 50mm base size, 3 models? Centurion armor, has to be. Fluff wise it fits MUCH better than sister's termy armor, as you don't need a black carapace to run it so long as you have power armor. Centurions with flamers or meltas and heavy bolters, yes please!! airinhere
If we are wishing for rainbows, I would like to see a solid revamp of the sisters arsenal. The Exorcist and Immolator were unique models for the sisters and the penitent engines were a nice spin on the standard dreadnought models that are basically all re-skins of the same models over and over. I personally really love the Ecclesiastic pseudo religious zealotry of the design for Sisters and hope that the new models go in that direction. Marines or guard can have all the modern military looking stuff. Sisters should edge toward holy icons and fiery wrath. What I hope we do not see is repeats of existing models. We need to add the the sisters lists, not have GW kitbash new versions of existing models. Sororita Katya
I agree airinhere, they need to inject the life into the codex that they took when they split us from the inquisition in the witch hunters book. I'd actually really like to see us get storm troopers as a cheap core, with sisters taking on elite core and filling out the special, heavy and HQ roles. If we were to keep to a purely sister force then I would want different models for retributors and dominions, new seraphim to remove the metal prongs and give them flight bases like they deserve and release our tanks in a manner that doesn't mean you need to go the gym weekly to take your army anywhere (although I guess it would help if someone ever tried to mug you haha Link to comment https://bolterandchainsword.com/topic/308811-sisters-rumours/#findComment-4073673 Share on other sites
Sororita Katya
Also graysparrow, I'd love to see sister centurions but they'd need to look a whole lot different. I don't want a copy and paste of the space marine centurions into our army, how could they design them to be unique but still represent what they are so you think? sitnam
I'm actually very optimistic about these rumors considering the releases we have seen the past 6 months. If they panout I predict we get the DEldar treament with an almost completely redone range. Very curious about the walker box Link to comment https://bolterandchainsword.com/topic/308811-sisters-rumours/#findComment-4073692 Share on other sites
Warsmith Aznable
Well, I've said this before, but the release of the Adeptus Mechanicus has thrown my expectations and best guesses completely out of the window. The AdMech had been in the works at least two years (based on the stamp on the bottom of the Rangers oval base, anyway) so the rumours from two or three years ago about sculpts for Sisters being in the works could very well be true. Who knows? Link to comment https://bolterandchainsword.com/topic/308811-sisters-rumours/#findComment-4073716 Share on other sites
*Furyou Miko
I agree airinhere, they need to inject the life into the codex that they took when they split us from the inquisition in the witch hunters book. I'd actually really like to see us get storm troopers as a cheap core, with sisters taking on elite core and filling out the special, heavy and HQ roles. Ugh, no, please. The last thing we want is to be marginalised by another faction again. If we were to keep to a purely sister force then I would want different models for retributors and dominions, new seraphim to remove the metal prongs and give them flight bases like they deserve and release our tanks in a manner that doesn't mean you need to go the gym weekly to take your army anywhere (although I guess it would help if someone ever tried to mug you haha Or just Seraphim done assault-marien style, with them all posed just-landing or just-jumping. That would be even better - flight stands look tacky on infantry. CaptainHelion
With you there on both those points, Miko. Given the dynamism in the Harlequins models, it'd be the work of a moment to make dynamic looking Seraphim. There are really only two things I'd want in terms of new units, and one of them only counts by the barest stretch. A second Troops option (more or less elite than BSS, I don't mind, I just want options), and a properly veteran Celestians unit. They should look like veterans, and need to act like veterans. Right now, they're so terrible as to not exist. Link to comment https://bolterandchainsword.com/topic/308811-sisters-rumours/#findComment-4073822 Share on other sites
*Furyou Miko
Celestians are in an awkward position and always have been. Originally they were a 'standardisation' of the Canoness' Seraphim Bodyguard (bolter version) - they were effectively Seraphim that had swapped their bolt pistols and jump pack for a bolter and power pack to act as a bodyguard for a Canoness who didn't have a jump pack. Then Witch Hunters tried to make them a dedicated assault unit with Holy Hatred, but because they were based off a bolter-version of the Seraphim, they had to keep their bolters, which made them a lackluster all-rounder unit. Then they've just sort of... wobbled around that role trying to fit in somewhere. What Celestians need is a real purpose as a unit: What are they? Seraphim on foot? Veteran Battle Sisters? Specialist bodyguards? Link to comment https://bolterandchainsword.com/topic/308811-sisters-rumours/#findComment-4073828 Share on other sites
CaptainHelion
Mmm, you are definitely right there. They need a role, and a focus. With that, it'd be relatively easy to make them actually do something. BlackTalos
I would not be unhappy to see them just become bodyguards or elite:Sisters version of the honour guard, though not as specialised but a multiple elite choice: Exotic or better weapons, and some good gear (you know "Holy" 2+ armour or FNP ~pointless on T3~, maybe a BS5 across the unit or holy icons to give the whole squad 4+ invuns) though the balance might be hard to get right.Problem with wishlisting stuff like this though is that GW will do what they planned to do.... And any expectation will lead to disappointment.I'm more than happy to get a new codex, new rules, and anything is an extra.... Plastic models of the current range could be a nice extra. New, invented Units? still a Dream until they do come out...I'm usually following Faeit, i don't know how i missed: Hastings and Faeit have then added that they believe Sisters will be included in the new 40k starter pack either alongside a random space marine chapter or used as an allied detatchment within the force. Sith’ari
I've said it before and and I'll say it again, but now that I'm finally buying the battle sister army I've always wanted, sods law demands that we'll see new sisters minis this year. Probably just after I've finished painting my initial 1200pts - so only about two months to go people! Marshall Bretton
plastic sisters are on the same shelf in the warehouse as the plastic thunderhawk gunship... on a serious note, I was told by a GW employee not long ago that the issue they had with re designing sisters in plastic was the hair, apparently they couldn't get it to look right with their molding process so they kept having to scrap them. With the changes they have made to their design process and moulding process however that is no longer a problem, so we could theoretically have plastic sisters at any time. He didn't know any more specific information, he just knew that had been the issue and they had solved it Link to comment https://bolterandchainsword.com/topic/308811-sisters-rumours/#findComment-4074058 Share on other sites
*Furyou Miko
It was the robes, actually - they've been doing hair perfectly for years and years. Link to comment https://bolterandchainsword.com/topic/308811-sisters-rumours/#findComment-4074176 Share on other sites
graysparrow
He didn't know any more specific information, he just knew that had been the issue and they had solved it Problem: Sister's models hair does not come out looking right regardless of method used. Solution: Fluff change, all sisters shave their heads upon initiation into the order for religious reasons. sitnam
I'd rather just have the option to helmet a whole squad. Warsmith Aznable
I firmly believe the "we can't get the hair and robes just right" rumour is a bad joke. Look at Skitarii and Harlequins: GW is perfectly capable of multi-part pose able plastic models that have dynamic elements. And IMO there's nothing really wrong with the current models except their price. How pose able does a bolter girl need to be? I'd be OK with plastic versions of the current designs. Maybe a fancy Canoness and some new priest models because those guys need options. That's not how GW does things anymore, though. WarriorFish
I think... well sedibear already said it. When a SoB rumour comes on by just nod your head and carry on as usual. BlackTalos
I firmly believe the "we can't get the hair and robes just right" rumour is a bad joke. Agreed. Anyone who's purchased an immolator knows they already have *acceptable* Sisters hair, and them you just have a look at: - Sisters of Avelorn - High elf mages etc Or pretty much a pile of new kits in recent (not even that recent) years with perfectly done hair. The long flowing robes could have been more credible, but i have the same feeling on those.... Kriegsmacht
I checked the High Elf range and yeah they seem to do the flowing robes well and those were released years ago.
