Afc24
Hi guys!! Started grey knight when the new codex came out. Many folk have criticised it from being a huge nerf to the last one but I can't grumble. So far I have been unbeaten with this list and have a tournament coming up, (this will a actually be my first one with my grey Knights) I am looking forward to the challenge and gonna use the same list that I haven't lost with. I have no anti-air but flyers don't win u games.....my termies and dread knights do!!! What u think of list? Thanks HQ- Libby ML3, Storm Bolter and halberd Troops- 3 groups of 10 termies Justicar - halberd 2 x psycannons 4 x halberds 1 x hammer 1 x sword 1 x falchions Justicar - halberd 2 x hammer 3 x halberds 2 x psycannons 2 x swords justicar - halberd 1 x sword 2 x hammer 2 x psycannon 4 x halberd Fast attack- interceptors Justicar - hammer 2 x incinerator 4 x halberd 2 x sword 1 x falchion Heavy support - 2 NDK 1st one with greatsword and power fist and heavy psycannon and heavy incinerator 2nd one with hammer and power fist, heavy psycannon and heavy incinerator. I have taken the 'Strike Force' formation so everything will be deep striking and harassing from the get go. Incinerators will be back field and shunt forward. Please let me know on what you think of this list. Cheers Link to comment https://bolterandchainsword.com/topic/308905-unbeaten-nsf-attachment/ Share on other sites
Kilofix
People sometimes don't expect Terminators because the current meta seems to disapprove of them. So, they end up being unprepared for them and a list like yours with with lots of 2+ will be tough to beat. Especially if Maelstorm'ish missions with Obj Sec. But certain lists like all Tau Crisis suits with Plasma guns or Dark Eldar with like a million Poison shots will give you a run for your money. That said, I personally like themed lists rather than lists that are strictly engineered for Tournaments. I say go with your list, have fun and tell us how it goes. Captain Coolpants
Nothing wrong with it, its a typical grey knights list. They all kinda look and do the same to be honest. Afc24
Thanks guys. My best friend plays nids and tau, he uses 2 riptide a squad of 3 broadsides and farsight with his annoying bodyguards deep striking. But still pretty straight forward. Get dread Knights in, use incinerator and take of of warriors. Termies focus on bigger foes for combat. Good old force weapons. Good thing about this list he has to deal with the threat of dread Knights and also the termies making havoc. I shunt my interceptors up if necessary. But will definitely let u know how I get on. Zhukov
It is not bad and can do certainly okay in smaller tournaments. I can see some problems, also outside of bad matchups or particular missions: You rely on reserve rolls at least going average (you do roll for your reserves to come in right? ^^). You don't however roll average all the time, only 1 out of 3 (or 2 out of 6 when you combat squad) Terminator units coming in wouldn't be bad luck for example, that's literally part of how you design your list. Good luck either way and let us know how it went! Afc24
Cheers Zhukov! Yeah will do, I agree with u but I do love this detachment with rolling 3+ To harness warp charge points. I'm hoping with the amount of 2+ armour saves and force weapons about I should be ok. Aethernitas
Behold the day when ye shalt roll only 1's and 2's eleven times straight and ye will hang thy head in shame for thy opponent will have won that fateful day without ye ever showing up. Emicus
What is this detachment for warpcharges on 3+? Are you mixing with the nemesis strike force detachment rule allowing reserves to arrive on 3+ first turn? Zhukov
Cheers Zhukov! Yeah will do, I agree with u but I do love this detachment with rolling 3+ To harness warp charge points. You do not harness warp charges on a 3+ with the NSF, you do that with the Grey Knights Brotherhood detachment (which you aren't running ofc). Afc24
My bad sorry. Just had a glance and ur right, it is 'The brotherhood detachment'. Reclusiarch Darius
Do not use the Brotherhood detachment, it's awful. Regarding your list, considering how hard you're going on Terminators, I'd drop the Interceptors to get yourself an Aegis Line with Comms Array, and get teleporters on your Dreadknights (it's a world of difference for them). Re-rolling your Turn 1 Deepstrike is huge for you, and being able to Shunt or move 12" with the Dreadknights make their threat range huge. Afc24
That would be make things a easier. My interceptors don't really do much cause of the other units being in the faces of others so they are left lingering in the back. Will defo try that. Emicus
And remember! You can always use a normal 6" move with the NDK in order to get a re-rollable charge:) Link to comment https://bolterandchainsword.com/topic/308905-unbeaten-nsf-attachment/#findComment-4082083 Share on other sites
