Kona
I sprayed a chimera with Bolt Action German Field Grey. I'm not crazy about the color for my vehicles, better suited for my DKoK troops. I want to go with a darker grey tone. Was thinking about the Army Painter Uniform Grey. If I spray another primer coat, that I'll be using as a base coat, over another colored primer; will it be noticeable compared to other vehicles just sprayed with one primer, and will a 2nd coat of primer be a problem in general? Major_Gilbear
Re-priming isn't terrible in general, but best avoided if you can because it can clog up finer detail. Priming is also intended to be a light coat to help paint stick, and not be a totally solid basecoat (...that's what the basecoat is for!). Basecoats with the same paint ought to be a pretty indistinguishable match as long as they both cover solidly over whatever was there before. Some further thoughts from me on the matter of primer as basecoat in this recent topic. Kaedes Nex
Army Painter Uniform Grey is nearly the exact same grey color as GW's plastic sprues, just to help you judge how dark it really is. It really makes priming annoying as you can't tell how well you've covered the model without taking it into the shade and squinting at it.
