Tales of Heroism and of Battles won

Recommended Posts

I wanted to start an thread ( I know it's been done before) where those of us here in the Fang can regale tails of heroism and of battles won in the name of Russ. Any units or models worthy of a brief tale, and remember, their description and war gear are mandatory. Other than that, have fun with it!!

Tell us what kind of hero's you've hardened by Power Sword and Bolt Gun fire!!

Here is the basic format to use:

Name of model / unit -

War gear / units composition -

Description / Tale -

Here is mine.

Eldgrimr Daemonsbane, Wolf Lord

Frost Sword and FrostFury

Eldgrimr Daemonsbane squared off against what he thought was a daemon prince, it ended up only being the doppelganger of it. He fought valiantly killing the beast in a single turn!! Of course Chaos is a deceiving force and the Blood God used the tithes of the fallen combatants to manifest the real Daemon Prince!! * collective gasp of shock* Eldgrimr also called out this monstrosity. After putting three more wounds onto the beast, he was laid low.

He took 2 wounds killing the first prince and died to the second one, but only after putting three wounds on it!! It was an epic showdown, indeed!!

End of Line

This is a great idea brother Rhapsody, I hope my tale is suitable, I have mentioned it before in the Wolf Priests thread but hope it bears repeating smile.png

Egil Thunderfist, Wolf Priest

Power Armour, Crozius, Plasma Pistol

Egil Thunderfist was leading a pack of blood claws against the foul xenos Dark Eldar as the Rout brought the murdermake to the latest raiding party to stray too close to one of the worlds under the protective gaze of the Vlka Fenryka. One of the incredibly fast and agile flyers of the enemy (designated a razorwing jetfighter) had already been rssponsible for the deaths of some of Egil's venerable brothers when it screamed across the sky over the heads of Egil's pack on its way to another strafing run. Egil took aim with his plasma pistol and just as the flyer was nearing the point where it would outrange Egil's weapon he blew it out of the sky and turned the vehicle into a blackened and smoking wreck staining the pristine snow. As the claws howled their approval Egil mag locked his pistol and drew his crozius, "Come pups, plenty more of the enemy for us to test our claws on before the sun sets on the red snow..."

Egil destroyed a Razorwing Jetfighter with a single shot of his plasma pistol before going on to kill the majority of a squad of wyche's in hand to hand combat earning himself a place in the saga's biggrin.png

Thunder's Wrath/Stormwolf

Multimelta load out

During an apocalypse game a couple weeks ago this guy was a beast.

The space wolves were taking a beating that day as the ranks of guardsman and their salamander brothers shot volley after volley into the advancing wolves. But hop soon shone from above as Ulric the slayer rode into battle aboard Thunder's Wrath. His presence and the presence of the standard bearers with him bolstered the ranks to great Feats and they dampened spirits rallied. But this is not a tale of the epic rallying powers of Ulric and his banner carrying grey hunters, thus is the tale of thunder's Wrath itself. As the heavy groan of super heavy tanks advanced upon my remaining forces only one defence remained. Thunder's wrath swooped in behind one of the baneblades and unleashed it's first melta volley into its rear. The all father was with us that day as the meltagun blew the tank apart with a thunderous cacaphony. But the glory wasn't over yet, as the destruction of the tank tore into its neighboring tank and destroyed it as well. Bringing lox those foul metal beasts who dared oppose the sons of russ

First post here but thought this thread was a good way to start!

Erik Ironheart - wolf Lord

Runic armour, stormshield and Krakenbone sword.

Having taken a wound earlier in the battle, leaving his shieldbrothers to guard an objective Erik bravely charged into combat with none other than memphiston. Slaying the space vampire in one round of combat after making good use of his stormshield against memphistons force sword!!

I have 2 entries here

Hrodvitnir - Stormfang Gunship

Lascannons, Skyhammer missiles

Before him loomed a massive Necron Monolith, he steadied his aim for his one shot, and fired his focused helfrost destructor... He had missed wide, he had taken evasive action, and ha just blown his one chance to destroy the monotlith, but he was unwilling to give up! He fired the only other weapon he had that could manage to destroy this harbinger of death, his twin linked lascannon. He snap fired the weapon, praying for a hit, but not expecting much. His first shot went wide, but his second found its mark! Lo and behold, the massive vehicle shook with wracking explosions! He had done it! His brothers would be spared the sickening lash of it's particle whip and terrifying gauss weapons!

I rolled trip sixes on that result, it was amazing, he also later took out Khârn the Betrayer (different game), He's never failed me! (even when he does he manages to pull something great)

Tyr Sorenson - Rune Priest

Runic Ax, stormbolter

Tyr and the remains of his Grey Hunter pack charged forward, into the silver tide of warriors that faced them. He stood tall and called forth the fury of Fenris, cracking open the earth and bidding forth the Jaws of the World Wolf! The chasm expanded under the feet of the Necron lord swallowing him up, and casting him down to a pit of darkness! The warriors were unfazed and stood stoically, as Tyr and his Grey Hunters volleyed what little fire they could while charging into the horde! Axes cleaved through warriors, chainswords ground through the mechanical abominations, and the men roared in anger! Only Tyr and a lone Grey Hunter Survived the necrons retribution, but still the combat was won. The warriors began to retreat, Tyr and his lone compatriot swept through the remaining horde and laid them low and made them unto dust!

I took me a while to remember the heroic deeds of some of my models. I had not named the characters at that point, I just now named them, but I remembered their deeds.

Those two deeds were from the same game, and I did a ton of damage with a numerically smaller force, I had much more toys than boys, and still managed a good fight. My opponent had all but tabled me by the end, Hrodvitnir was still zooming around, and Tyr was stuck in one corner, all told it was the most damage anyone had ever done to his necron force, and it stayed that way, since now they're my necrons.
