Sigismund

Fire Golem

I could. It's your money you can do with it as you please. I know us on the heresy train don't "know no fear" but we should be fearless with our conversions to make even more epic models :D that Alexis sigismund could be used to make a stair well duel with Sevatar. Of which I need 2 more. (Need to convert one to ride a space plane :p)

With shipping, that's $80 in the US. Outrageous.

Good God. $80 for that turd of a sculpt is brutal.

Let us hope Ventanus is better smile.png

Amen, brother.

If Ventanus looks anything like his artwork, both from the past and present, then he's getting the VII Legion treatment from me. :D

Tho i understand why you would do that. His face is male model worthy. His armor is so unique.

I think he looks fantastic, although I totally agree he needs a helmet. That's easy fixed though.

As for price? Yeah it's steep. I'm in Australia so it's bad but our brothers and sisters in New Zealand have it even worse so I won't complain (much).

The character series has been worth the cost though. These are exceptional miniatures!

Ok, I'll say it: I hate the model, I think it's horrible!

The reason I hate the model so much has to do with the obviously totally wrong proportions. The torso is waaaay to long and the legs are unnaturally positioned. The head is also questionable, especially because he's bald (unlike the fluff) and he has laurels... Really? Laurels? I mean having them sculpted on a helmet is fine but how to they remain in place on his head during battle? Does he staple them on?

Also the tabard is awful... It is too short and looks totally unnatural. It also attempts to cover the proportion mistakes and instead it accentuates them. It all looks so wrong.

Truth being said I'm not a fan of Pullox either - I think the legs are problematic. But he's nowhere as bad as Sigismund. It was a missed opportunity and a pity to have the Emperor's Champion with that bad a model.

I'm not even going to the price...

Were money no object, this is what I'd go for:

Looks neat, but isn't Polux much larger than a normal marine?

Fluffwise - yes. Actualy model wise? Not by that much. Doesnt help that the way hes standing makes it a bit hard to conclude.

While this is a baller kitbash, Sigismunds arms, shoulder, torso and lets are all one piece. I dont think I'd be able to cut up that much Expensive Resin @_@

You've seen my Autek Mor, I'll give it a bash soon. Just with an IH symbol on his shoulder instead. Because Meduson.

Detail is fine, the head looks like it was put in the oven for to long and I don't like the pose. Sigismund has always been described as the Crusader, the one charging into combat with his sword in both hands screaming bloody murder. This pose would be fine for a more technically skilled character like Lucius.

I don't think that view of Ol' Siggy is all that fair. While he was very much the Hot Headed Commander, he was also One of - if not THE - best fighters among the Legions.

To insinuate (if you were at all, could be wrong) that he earned that reputation/position/rank through Zeal and Rushing headlong into combat would be a disservice. He is very much the skilled and technically Proficient Swordsman - just not one that focused on Form and Figure like Lucius and those of the EC vs Killing you dead as efficiently and effortlessly as possible.

His rules reflect as much.

Tl;dr : ¯\_(ツ)_/¯

That is a brave man.

I thought that maybe if the legs were cut up and straightened out, it would make the length of the torso look better, but it doesn't. Not much, anyway. It's better, but... still not fantastic by any stretch of my imagination.

His arms and legs look soo skinny sad.png

There are some issues for sure, I dont think the MKII legs help, if I remember my MKII guys, the legs seemed real thin, but the tabard looks like its messing up my perception of the proportions a bit.

Its a shame, there are several bits I like, but there are several issues. :/

Personally I think either the Legion Champion or the IF Command set make better sigismund models then the official one.

I'm thinking swapping the limp-wristed sword arm from the IF commander for the new Sigismund's arms is the best way to make the most from each kit, maybe going so far as to use the way shaw3029 reposed the arms.

I was actually really on board with this Sigismund when I first saw the model but the more I look at it the more it just feels off. The upside is we're bound to see a range of stunning conversions that all find unique solutions smile.png

WHat is with the Legion Champion's legs by the way? Why the hell is it one half bulky MkIII and other half skinny-ass MkIV?

Yeah, he's got MkIII-style additional plating mounted over his MkIV (like how regular MkIII is basically mounted over MkII). I've been interpreting it to be extra armour added to his own dueling preference. Maybe his style leaves him slightly open on the left side or something.
