Captain General
Anyone else notice that servitors are not mentioned in the codex? CG Link to comment https://bolterandchainsword.com/topic/309292-servitors/ Share on other sites
Frater Cornelius
What Servitors and what Codex? Be more specific :p You mean the creation and purpose of them in both AdMech books? Didn't really notice, because I did not read too much into it. I know, shameful sD Link to comment https://bolterandchainsword.com/topic/309292-servitors/#findComment-4086692 Share on other sites
Lucien Eilam
A quick search of the digital versions finds there are 38 mentions of servitors in C:Cult Mechanicus and 10 in C:Skitarii. And of course both codexes include two servitor units (Kataphron Breachers/Destroyers, Sydonian Dragoons/Ironstrider Ballistarii). Captain General
I have the hard copy of the AdMech Codexs and neither mention the "regular" servitors ( machine repair and weapon carrying) as mentioned in the AM/IG and marine codex and the novels (Mechanicum and Titanicus) I have read. Kilofix
The regular "human" looking servitors are actually less effective versions of the combat servitors like the Kataphron. The regular "human" looking servitors are supplied to and used by non-Cult Mech forces like the Guard. But since Cult Mech has the Kataphron which is superior, there is less need for the former on the same battlefield. That said, fluff wise they still do use the regular "human" looking servitors in their operations. Also 30K does have the regular "human" looking servitors, and also tech thrall. Lucien Eilam
There's no such thing as a "regular" servitor. Link to comment https://bolterandchainsword.com/topic/309292-servitors/#findComment-4086939 Share on other sites
Ordo Machinum
SELECTED: DENTRICA I OF MENGAGE NEURAL CONGRESS – WIRELESS AUTOSHUNT ACQUIREDUPLOADING… + SERVITORS + <We are ALL servitors of the Machine God. We simply are not ALL equal.> Not to speculate without any hard data, but this could be open to any future codexes, supplementary rules, datasheets, dataslates, etc. Until such time as the Omnissiah wishes to reveal such knowledge, we can compensate with allying the necessary units from our servi... Targetlock
would have liked other servitor and tech-priest options, like allowing 1-3 tech-priest to be taken as a seperate choice or something, would like a character in my kataphron units other than dominus. still there is allies i guess :) Link to comment https://bolterandchainsword.com/topic/309292-servitors/#findComment-4086977 Share on other sites
Ordo Machinum
I agree. Who knew the Kataphron would be Troops instead of Fast Attacks or Elites? Or the Electro-Priests would be Elites instead of Troops? Other servitor options could have made another Troop unit. The Machine God turns each of us according to His own plan... DeStinyFiSh
For playing I would add an Inquisitor with some Servitors. Cheap, fluffy and can be a very good support, also gives access to transports. Captain General
There are many types of servitors There gun servitors, combat servitors Yes, I know, that is why I'm suprised that they were not mentioned in the Codex, but are in much of the fluff. As I have several dozen of them, I'm using them in my AdMech force, making my fluff to cover any "objections".... :-) CG Link to comment https://bolterandchainsword.com/topic/309292-servitors/#findComment-4088386 Share on other sites
