2500 point Salamander list

Good day mates,

 

Just a quick 2500 point army list for my Salamanders. I'm trying something a little bit new, not quite a highlander list, but trying to incorporate something from each slot on the FoC.

 

HQ: Legion Praetor w/cataphractii armor, master crafted paragon blade, storm shield, mantle of the elder drake

        - 5x Firedrakes with Thunder Hammers and Storm Shields

 

HQ: Praevian w/ 3x castellax w/ multimeltas, 2x flamers

 

Troops: 10 x legionaries w/ Rhino

 

Troops: 10x legionaries w/ Rhino

 

Heavy: Spartan w/ flare shield

 

Heavy: 3x predators w/ lascannons, plasma executioners

 

Elite: 3x rapiers w/las destroyers

 

Elite: Deredeo w/ AC, missile launcher

 

FA: Primaris Lightning w/ 4 kraken missiles

 

Summary: The Salamander rite of war will give all units and vehicles more through cover which is nice for limiting grav weapon effects on the terminators and dangerous terrain tests for the armor. The Spartan might still die, but it will likely get to deliver it's payload of firedrakes first. The terminators are scoring and nice and killy, but not strong enough to stand up to a primarch unfortunately. The multimeltas on the castellax benefit from the salamanders special melta rules and the flamers are an extra +1. Not the best astartes rules for automata, but better than a kick in the tail. The predators will be standing off and shooting at TEQ/MEQ with their plasma templates. The Deredeo will be on anti-air, interceptor, light vehicle duty. The lightning will be there to alpha the Spartan, Knight, Typhon, superheavy if there is one. Rapiers are just more anti-armor.
