Space Marine Tank Remote weapon systems?

So I'm looking for a good way to integrate the searchlight and smoke launchers (and potentially HK missile and storm bolter) into a single modular remote weapon system, like what we are seeing with modern vehicles.

I've penned a couple of my own designs, but this is what I'm thinking.

 

The "searchlight" (optics package and remote viewer) and smoke launchers form the base that can be attached/replace a hatch on all SM vehicles.  Then, based on options (storm bolter or HK missile), you can simply add components onto the core as you need to.  This could be used on essentially any vehicle that it would make sense to (for example, not the Razorback since it has its own optics attached to the heavy weapon).

 

Is this something that anybody else has worked on already?  I've searched for some inspiration in the 40k realm but haven't found much.  Thanks!

It's a great idea.  Prior to my introduction to 40K I was an armor modeler and tank enthusiast.  I'm surprised this never occurred to me until I saw this post.
