ArbitorIan Posted June 15, 2015 Share Posted June 15, 2015 Hello! So I'm working on a 2250 Warp Cult list with allied Word Bearers, planned around the Auxilia list from HH5. A horde of 150 screaming cultists (Rending, Zealot, Fear, FNP6+) all running forwards, supported by some Mutant Spawn, some WB Terminators, a Deredeo and some Rogue Psyker daemon-summononing. This leaves me about 600pts for some sort of heavy support/anti-tank unit, and I'm torn between TWO Malcadors (with hull/sponson Las) or a regular Baneblade with a set of sponsons. Having not played much Heresy, what would work best? The Malcadors are probably more flexible with more lascannons, but only have regular Battlecannon templates. The Baneblade has less HP in total, and the advantage of AP2 massive templates, but less lascannons. Whatever I choose is probably going to be my only big vehicle - I worry that a single target will be D weaponned to death straight away by all the big scary Astartes tanks. ROBOcaster Posted June 15, 2015 Share Posted June 15, 2015 2 Malcadors, replace the battle cannon with TL LC, that battle cannon will be nice against infantry but do nothing to a Flare Shielded spartan assault tank. Throw the Demo cannon on it to compensate for the loss of the battle cannon, then all your weapons will at least be able to glance and Flare Shielded spartan. You have termis and cultist to deal with infantry, demo cannon can also put some hurt on infantry but the malcs can focus most of their attacks on the enemy armor. Also two units forces them to pick and choose which targets they are going to have to fire at, and divides the enemies fire. And unless your playing against 40k you wont see many (if any) D weapons in a 2250 game, so shouldn't have to worry about a malc being taken out on one luck 6. ROBOcaster Posted June 15, 2015 Share Posted June 15, 2015 Mine are run at 320 for my Solar Auxilia that's lascannons sponsons, Demo Cannon, TL LC, Flare Shield, Siege Armor. I can usually put three shots two LC and 1 Demo it works out rather nicely. Also for Sol Aux I get tank commander who gives tank hunter but that's something I that's exclusive to Sol Aux I think.
