tjr
With the new SM codex out, I'll most definitely be using some SM allies. To avoid the whole "these red marines are BA, while these red marines are Raven Guard". What do you think would be a good color? What would good on the table? Green is my go-to contrast colour. As long as they don't end up looking like Salamanders or Dark Angels. Cream would also match nicely. There also aren't any easily recognizable Chapters. White Scars and Deathwing come close. Angels of Redemption combine the two, but they might look too much like DA. http://i.ytimg.com/vi/SYxK1PiRF3s/maxresdefault.jpg What do you think? Will you be painting up some allies (or do you already have some)? Xenith
Angels of Redemption are DA Invaders, Mortifactors. My Omega Marines sit well with my BA due to a yellow spot colour on both, and black/white checks on my BA. http://i279.photobucket.com/albums/kk141/Mechxen/Omega%20Marines/31517_md-40000BlackOmegaSpaceSpaceM.jpg Link to comment https://bolterandchainsword.com/topic/309436-color-scheme-for-codex-vanilla-chapter/#findComment-4089630 Share on other sites
tjr
I know they are, but I see now I choose my wording purely. I'm going to see if I can find a way to paint ivory with black "freckles" (if you're imagining whipping cream with vanilla seeds, then we have the exact same mental image). Charlo
One good thing you could do, is add a campaign badge to the knees on all the Marines, Mark thier comraderie! tjr
One good thing you could do, is add a campaign badge to the knees on all the Marines, Mark thier comraderie! Yes. I actually had a plan to do this with my BAs, instead of giving them company markings. Mostly because I didn't want to bother with transfers. That's probably a skill I'll have to learn at some point though. captain Angel
Easy way Step one: cover area you plan to apply transfer with gloss varnish Step two: soak transfer and apply small amount of water on varnish Step three: slide off transfer d VERY GENTLY remove excess water Step four: coat dry transfer with gloss varnish to creat seal Step five: apply flat varnish to model to seal model and remove shine This should be done after all other steps are taken. Lostiris
For vanilla marines paint them white alternatively you could have French vanilla marines but these should be a cream colour. :P On a serious note though I did Aurora Marines as the green goes well with the blood angels red and there is a bit of history between the chapters on Satys.
