Ashen circle axe rakes

Hi

Just a quick question, Ashen circle axe rakes state they -1to an enemy's fall back distance after combat?

Does that mean A: the unit is at minus one to their sweeping advance role and can be caught easier which seems cool.

Or B: it's minus one to how far they run after the sweeping advance which seems rubbish?

Cheers

I guess it makes it easier to charge in subsequent turns but not nearly as good as if it was that initial sweeping advance roll.

And then there is the fact that the Ashen Circle are in hardened armour and so already have -1" tp their Sweeping Advance...  That exactly cancels the effect of the Axe Rake if I understand things properly...

{edit}  no it doesn't cancel the effect...

This is how I understand things:

  1. Ashen Circle wins combat, enemy fails Morale test.
  2. Both roll 1D6 + Initiative but Ashen Circle both:
  • Reroll "1"
  • Subtract 1 from the total result for the Hardened Armour

      3. If the enemies total is greater, they Fall Back 2D6" but -1" for the Rake

Not very useful at all...
