so I am planning our my next forge world order and one of the things I'm thinking of doing is biulding a 5 man terminator command squad to do pride of the legion or delegatus lists with and wondered on people's opinions as to there competitiveness with imperial fist rules and right of war.

Mostly I play with my bro and some close friends it's very friendly and rule of cool and narrative based game play so we bend and break rules and take non competitive stuff all the time bur with forge world prices I wanted to try and keep it at least viable in a competitive game and I'm kinda new to gaming "with rules" lol so wanted opinions on how my plan will work or not from those of you more formal style veterans.

I wanna model and paint a term command squad all in cataphractii and have an epic banner and all that good stuff but then can't decide on load out (I mean I'll probly do mag all the arms but a couple load outs to begin with would be good) do thunder hammer storm shield terminators do ok in 30k as well as 40k or should I do power weapons and is the imp fist rotary canon really better on a shooty squad then a reaper

I dunno anyone have any experience, I would lave some input thanks

I'm guessing you're going to be doing Imperial Fists; they're after all one of the few (only two so far) Legiones with access to Storm Shields.

And I've got to say, among the units, a unit with the ability to use Chosen Warriors to challenge block enemy characters, with a 2+/3++ save and Fearless, you're going to be doing quite well, even if you are missing out on the special rules of the Imperial Fists (+1 Bolter and Stubborn in fortifications by having no range weapons and fearless).  The downside is, that they're hella expensive; We're talking like 265 for just Power Weapons and Shields, and 340pts total for Thunder Hammers. For that cost, there are better options, but if you're rocking with a Rite of War called the Stone Gauntlet, (basically, a variant to the Force Organization Chart providing you benefits for the models within; in this case, Shield armed models get +1 toughness in they're in unit coherency resulting in T5, 2+/3++ Fearless models. Fearless is also a much bigger deal in 30K than it is in 40K.

thanks for the tips for me it's less about points efficiency and more about fielding characterful armies I love the look of and the folks I play with are mostly the same so pts/efficiency is kinda second I just wanted to know if they would stand up in a scuffle and you gents have answered that question nicely thanks for the tips
