Your legion

Out of character (As I can only try to show our good Hyaenidae the light so many times until a Purge call comes down...)

It has taken me what feels like years to latch onto the Word Bearers.

I've started up Word Bearers, Night Lords, World Eaters, Raven Guard, and Iron Hands, and would have done Sons of Horus, Fists, and Iron Hands Warriors if not for those already being grabbed up by others in the group.

EDIT x 2: Oh and Death Guard...man they have some good models.

Every legion pre and post Primarch has its own appeal, and you just have to find that hook that pulls you in, or a colour, like Red. tongue.png

So bring on VI and the IX! I can certainly deny myself from starting the Wolves, but the Angels....that may take some work to not buy into. :]

I call the IV Legion as my allies, and the Wolfhound of Old Earth a bonded brother. If you wish to attack, then feel free to.

Your call, your funeral.

;)

I wouldn't say that quite yet. Forgeworld has taken to making it a point in blowing our :cuss ing minds every single chance they get. I expect greatness for the Rout, a leveling and moderate re-balancing of their stance and history in the Great Crusade, to pull them in line with the formerly covered Legions' storylines.

All hail our Emperor of Mankind, Alan Bligh, beloved by all. Behold, his inventive glory. Rejoice, for the Legions are re-born.

....but not Wolves. Rout. Vlka Fenryka. The Legion re-born, just as Remus pointed out in his OP happened to the Ultramarines Legion.

We have collectively forgiven and forgotten the Ward fluff, as it's 10,000 years from when we care. Everything we thought we knew of the XIII Legion died with Know No Fear and the recent FW release. The Wolves you know of, the 40k wolves, don't exist here. We don't really know them at all yet.

We have a vague idea based on the BL books, but as we've seen, we have been (mostly) pleasantly surprised with alterations to the fluff as we knew it. This is becoming our 'new normal'. Expect more, man. Because, shockingly enough, we're gonna get it. And chances are, we're gonna love it.

All things that burn, turn to ash and dust, turn to nothing.

If you had not forgotten your past, Word Bearer, you would remember this.

(Practicing for Herald selection, what'cha think? Watch out, Narthan Dume, here I come! :P )

I thought it was probably the best line from Red Dawn, and it seemed appropriate here. I just dislike the Ultramarines. If the miracle tag-team of Abnett and Bligh can't win me over to their side... and Know No Fear came damn close... it's not gonna happen.

A shame, then.

Back to the OP's topic, I had a very hard time when I first decided to pick up 30k, simply because the possibilities are completely endless. The whole hobby feels fresh now, like I just found out about the game all over again. To top that, the Heresy has attracted some amazing modelers and painters, whose skill blended with the new stuff from Forgeworld has created some really amazing armies that change folks opinion on Legions they thought they knew by appearance alone.

I might have a fascination with the IV and the XVII, but every Legion is ripe with creative potential.

Don't hold back. Go crazy.

Damnit, I'm outta likes.

But yes, Tempest does a pretty decent job at making them that much more Likable.

Though, if you have a mentality like mine where even Hyena's superb renditions of pre-Lorgar Imperial Heralds can't get you to like them...
