Your legion

He's actually drawn the same way pretty consistently, and it looks like FW is continuing that trend with their art. Looks non-standard/MkV-ish to me. Who knows if the sculpt will turn out the same way if/when they model him though. I really wouldn't be surprised if they give him more of a MkIV look.

Would like to say, a friend emailed FW and they confirmed that spiked shoulder pads are on their list of things to do, and seeing as Ventanus has them in that piece of artwork, and the Mark of Calth artwork hopefully we will get them soon.

You mean there making spiked pads for normal astartes? Damn, that was one feature that made Ventanus unique.

There plenty of Sons of Horus and World Eaters shown with spiked shoulder pads in Betrayal, could see a lot of legion utter listing them tbh. I would say he Ventanus would be fairly unique among the XIIIth though.

We do not do what we do for glory, or recognition, we do our duty because that is what we created for. Do you seek recognition for breathing?

Your duty is to conquer the galaxy in the name of the Emperor and your enemy must know to whom they are subject now. Fighting from the shadows will leave people cowered in fear, but restless and rebellious. The message needs to be clear: subjugation or extermination.

BUT, I will admit stealth has its uses.

We conqueror in the name of the Emperor, when we have brought a world to compliance it is for him and the Imperium of man, not for our own Legion. We serve the Empire of Man, we don not seek to forge our own. And those who carry treasonous thoughts, they fear the retribution of the Emperor, we are just his blade in the dark.

No one will more you, no one will celebrate, I'll just move on.

The the IV and XIX Legions actually have something in common then, cousin...

Damn my typo. I love that pic btw.

The difference between the IV and the XIX is that when it came to it, at the point you were stretched to the limit, you decided you had enough, you decided to break your oaths in a childish tantrum, to cross the Rubicon with a mad dictator and his pet gods. 8 Legions brought down hell on the XIX, and we just picked our selfs up and carried on. Iron breaks. Shadows will always remain.

I also love it and in this picture you can also see that iron warriors are not only iron whitout: they are brotherhood, they are the soldiers that do the job together and help each other. Steel need flesh yes,but you can't see outside what lies under the armor...

Remember this: we turn from a Imperium that gives us nothing but only biterness and hate ...BUT we are not madness ravagers or cultists of some so called"gods".

We are Legion. Iron Within!

My personal favorites are the XIX and the XX. Stealth and shadows, and truth (not lies, only a lack of truth).

I have always been drawn to the XIX version of subtly and stealth, but with Legion I have been increasingly interested in the XX legion and their knowledge of everything, and different view on the imperium.

Maybe I missed it in skimming through this thread, but I only saw my Legion mentioned once, and more as an 'equal favorite' than actual favorite.

For me, it's first, last, always and only the Salamanders.

Well, or the Saturnyne Rams. Actually, either version of the XVIIIth - both work for me.

Faith, belief, these where never lacking in those of the Word. Its those who are limited by the corporeal...its you all who will be made to see, and bear witness to our ascension.

In a society based on logic, evidence and truth, all gods are dead.

If you need some higher purpose to justify your pathetic lives, a benevolent being whose mere existence proves you are special to soothe your fear of death and utter insignificance, you are worthless.

And yet there is evidence, and there is truth...this is the beauty of the Primordial Truth that you are missing.

It is not about faith or belief when Gods are real, when you have a Soul, and a place for it to go when you die.

The truth of it is this. I do not require faith...the Gods are real, and they can be seen, just as plainly as the results of your Imperial 'truth'.

You very much should fear death however, for the Warp is not kind to the unprepared.

Ultramar is naught but a vassal state of the Imperium of Man conquered in the name of the Emperor, blessed be his name. And if the Imperium should fall and Terra be scourged, Ultramar is the bulwark on which mankind can rebuild. That is not treason, that is strategy.

You cannot build an Empire on a foundation of spectres and shadows.

BTW, is this going off topic? If so we can continue this conversation in private, brother.

For me, its the Death Guard and Salamanders.  I love them both so much, even through they are compete opposite in my opinion.

I would give my right leg to see someone actually make a retributuion force of unstable Salamanders led by the Iron Dragon....

Power does not make a God.

The torturous madness of the Warp does not make it a heaven, nor a hell.

Did your vile patrons bring the universe into tumultuous existence? Did they ignite the stars, or seed the planets with life?

No.

They are capable of nothing but destruction, pitiful beings that can merely feed of the consciousness of true life. Your gods are parasites.

You abase yourselves before them because you are too terrified to accept that there is no greater plan, no universal truth.

There is only the bitter reality of life.
