Also several accounts refer to ocean worlds taken during the great crusade. Also orks used submersibles during the third war for Armageddon, I'm sure a space marine assault on an ork u boat would not be a stretch of the fluff. I think there was also mention of Land Raiders and Terminator mounting an assault on an underwater base along the bottom of the sea - it might be the same one as you were speaking of.
