Brother Captain Arkley Posted June 21, 2015 Share Posted June 21, 2015 -Three Flyers (magnets), I've been waiting for the rules to come right before purchasing, seems like now's the time. -One of the new PA Chaplains, he looks wicked. -Three or four DA upgrade sprues for my Vets and Comd Squads. I am a bit peeved that I just brought $50 worth of new transfers, mostly for the Sacred Standards, only weeks later to find that was waste of money. Grrrrrr. I might use a few of them but still...grrrr. Still, going to concentrate on painting DW regardless, new things can sit unpainted until I'm ready bs Yeah it does seem a bit of an annoyance regarding the transfers but in a way its a boon for me I can use one as my Chapter Standard :) Link to comment Share on other sites More sharing options...

SvenONE Posted June 23, 2015 Share Posted June 23, 2015 I have an unpainted Dark Talon, but I'll probably buy a second one. The RW Silence Squadron doesn't really interest me since it's 2x Neph. I think though that I'll be putting an order in for 2 FW dreadnoughts (the mark IV and V ones, I'm not crazy about the Mortis patterns), the chaplain and the DA and maybe a regular GW one. The Lion Awakens Formation? Seriously, I did this for the Adeptus Mechanicus armies and have a ton to build already. ...but getting some required models to build The Hammer of Caliban Formation just may be what I need. Mass LSVs and Typhoons with Intercept are going to slow alpha strikes down to a crawl. We need that to keep something on the board until DW arrive turn two. Polythemus Posted June 23, 2015 Share Posted June 23, 2015 Interesting that the design team didn't push better rules /points for the flyers assuming everything that we know now is still true. I was considering getting enough flyers for the silence squadron but the rule for the bomb is still a bit clunky and the formation just seems to make the bomb auto hit and give you fighter escort to allow the whole thing to come in when you choose. Not enough incentive for a 400 plus pt group of models. I think given this some devastatiors might be on offer. Grav seems like a fun toy. Link to comment Share on other sites More sharing options...
Stoic Raptor Posted June 23, 2015 Share Posted June 23, 2015 I don't have any immediate plans for additional purchases, as I think I currently have enough to run an army in any of the three Wings. For Ravenwing, I have Sableclaw, a full-strength RWCS, and two full strength RWAS with speeder and attack bike, as well as a Psyker Biker and a Biker Chap. I might eventually get a couple more jets, but not before I've assembled and painted the one I've got. For Deathwing, I've got Belial, a DWCS, an 8-man DWK squad, a Termi-Chap and a Termi-Librarian, a Land Raider Crusader and a couple squads of regular Terminators. I might get a Venerable Dreadnought and perhaps one more squad of Terminators. For Greenwing, I have two full-size DA Tactical squads, a third (vanilla) Tac box, a Company Master, a couple Chaplains, a Librarian, a Dev squad, a Command squad, 15 Veterans, and a couple Scout Squads. So it looks like the one thing I don't specifically have for Lion's Blade is an Assault Squad. I know I can put one together with all the bits I have (and some jump packs that were going to be used on my yet-to-be-assembled Skyclaws). I know I can do a Deathwing Redemption Force or a DW or RW Strike Force Detachment. Perhaps in the long term, I will look into expanding my Demi-Company into a full 5th Company force. Probably another Land Speeder and maybe another box of Black Knights. I also need Gravgun bits. Anything else depends on Company Vets and I haven't seen their rules yet. I have most of the models I need - I'm not sure whether I can justify two additional flyers until I know that I would use them regularly. Given that the last time I played a game with my DA was in 5th, I'm not so sure I need them yet. Prot Posted June 23, 2015 Share Posted June 23, 2015 The new Chaplain is on the way along with the LE 'dex o' shame I bought. Other than that I have almost everything I need except.... 2 more flyers! I'm loving the Talon, and the formation sounds like a fun unit. I'm glad I bought a Vengeance back when they couldn't give them away as door stops. I can't get a good feel for DA tacticals. I think I'll always prefer the 'elite' angle of Dark Angels. In saying that, I won't have many tacticals in my DA, so won't buy any.... However, that means I won't be playing Lion's Blade. I should replace my Belial with a new one, but I'm not sure I'll use him now that he doesn't unlock anything. I may make a CM in Termie armour with the new relic blade instead. :) So for sure: 2 x flyer Not for sure: Belial maybe... 1 squad of Tacticals?
