Dark Bjoern
This is more a "wanna buy" list, but that´s how i wanna play my Ultramarines. Rite of War: Pride of the Legion Ultramarine HQ: Praetor (162 points) Cataphractii TDA, Volkite Charger, Paragonblade Centurion Primus Medicae (130 points) Scimitar Jetbike Troops: Legion Terminator Squad (735 points) 9 Terminator, 2 Chainfists, 2 Reaper Autocannons, Serteant with combi weapon and grenade harness Legion Spartan Armoured Ceramite, Flare Shield Legion Veteran Tactical Squad (310 points) Sergeant with Artificer Armour, Power Weapons 9 Marines, 2 heavy bolter and suspensor web, Vexilla, Fearless Rhino with TL bolter Legion Veteran Tactical Squad (320 points) Sergeant with Artificer Armour, Thunderhammer 9 Marines, 2 heavy bolter and suspensor web, Vexilla, Fearless Rhino with TL bolter Elite: Legion Rapier Weapons Battery (165 points) 3 Rapier Waepons Batteries with Laser Destroyer Array Fast Attack: Legion Jetbike Sky Hunter Squad (275 points) Sergeant + 5 Jetbikes, 2 Volkite Culverin Lord of War: Legion Typhon Heavy Siege Tank (410 points) Lascannons, Armoured Ceramite 2500 Points The Praetor should join the Terminators in the Spartan. The Primus Medicae will join the Sky Hunters. I hope he will keep them alive. They shall support with their firepower where ever it´s necessary. And they should be fast enought to catch a Mission object at the last moment. For the Weapon Batteries i must try what works better for me. If it is better to run them as a single unit or as three seperate units. The idea is that the Terminators and the Jetbikes Keep the enemy that busy that he will ignore the Veteran Squads (i know, wishful thinking) I had choosen the Typhon simply cause i love the model. He looks ace. So what did you say to my list? Link to comment https://bolterandchainsword.com/topic/309716-first-try-2500-points-um/ Share on other sites

Captain Taelos
Not much to say! Looks pretty decent! I have an enduring fear of Knights and other super heavies, so I'd be looking to put Melta Bombs on everything, but that's just me. Dark Bjoern
My first thought was to use a Cerberus instead of the Typhon. But i know my luck. I would blow it up myself. I hope the Rapier Batteries will do the job. Link to comment https://bolterandchainsword.com/topic/309716-first-try-2500-points-um/#findComment-4106311 Share on other sites
Ishagu
May I recommend the Vindicator Laser Destroyer? Two of these cheap tanks will put an Imperial Knight down in one turn - barring some epic invul save rolls. The Typhon can clear out blobs, the Vindis can focus fire on a high threat target. They are far more effective imo, than the laser Destroyer Rapiers. tetsuokills
You are 5pts over on both Legion Veteran squads! If you are wanting to run three Laser Destroyer rapiers I recommend splitting them up. It makes them harder to kill and you can potentially focus fire on three units rather than just the one. Alternatively, consider taking a Sicaran Venator. It provides some respectable anti-tank firepower and is especially useful in punching holes in knights / superheavies. Forcing superheavy vehicles to snap fire can be huge and completely shuts down things like Typhons and Malcador Chem tanks.I would also recommend splitting the Jetbikes into two squadrons. That way you can fire at or support twice as many units without drawing as much fire power to yourself for being a big, juicy bike target. Give each Sgt a meltabomb for some added anti-tank duty.My only problem with the list is the big Terminator squad. With the delivery system and the Praetor that's 900pts and effectively 2/5 of your army. The thing is it doesn't really excel at anything. It's not a huge threat in the shooting department and it's not all that much better in combat. The biggest scare factor this unit brings is dumping ten Terminators on your doorstep turn two. It risks getting shot to bits when the unit is out of the Spartan or spends a few turns grinding through the chaff being thrown in your way. It has some staying power in being able to hold onto an objective for a turn or two, but that's about it. You also can't sweep with the unit if the Praetor has Cataphractii. I would consider running a unit of Invictus Suzerains and run them in a Land Raider Phobos with armoured ceramite. It's some 160pts cheaper, has just as good a delivery system and you have an impressive close combat unit backed up with some mean firepower. The Suzerains will out perform the Terminator squad in close combat and the shooting is negligible enough that the saving in points along with trimming in a few other areas could buy you a whole other Veteran tactical squad with rhino.
