Wolf Lord Loki
I've heard a lot talk about other heresy weapons (rotor cannons, volkites) but not a lot about Graviton guns. Given their ability to cause difficult and dangerous terrain wouldn't more people want to use them? ROBOcaster
Very nice weapons, only problem is they are "heavy" and have a short range so it's hard to get into place and use them. I think people put them on their dreads most of the time or on something with relentless. Wolf Lord Loki
Hypothetically what would be the best way to use them with infants units? Link to comment https://bolterandchainsword.com/topic/309734-graviton-weapons/#findComment-4095699 Share on other sites
jeremy1391
Defensive infantry units that are hanging back on an objective cane use them well. Only infantry unit that comes to mind that can take them (unless you play iron hands) is breacher squads... which have a high investment cost. If you want graviton I would use the graviton cannon rapier platform. Hesh Kadesh
Raven Guard or Alpha Legion have infiltrate to get within range first turn. Death Guard get one gauranteed relentless breacher squad with Morturg. Any legion with Biomancy Librarians has a chance of rolling Endurance. Gorgonators get Graviton on relentless Chassis Other than that, unless it is on a vehicle it should be a Grav Cannon rapier due to its long range. Land speeders suffer due to fragile, can be glanced to death easily against interceptor bolters and jink prevents blast from firing. Contemptors get expensive quickly while Legion Dreads are more fragile Link to comment https://bolterandchainsword.com/topic/309734-graviton-weapons/#findComment-4095745 Share on other sites
Wolf Lord Loki
I collect white scars and the movement denial abilities make me want to take it. It's far easier to control the battle when your opponent has to decide if moving is worth the risk. But so far I've only spotted it in breachers, landspeeders and rapiers. Any other units that can take Graviton weapons? Link to comment https://bolterandchainsword.com/topic/309734-graviton-weapons/#findComment-4095794 Share on other sites
ROBOcaster
Iron Hands Tactical Support squads and dreads. Link to comment https://bolterandchainsword.com/topic/309734-graviton-weapons/#findComment-4095797 Share on other sites
1ncarnadine
Iron Hands can kit out a Tactical Support Squad with Graviton Guns, but only if they use their RoW. Expensive too, 10 will cost you nearly 300 points iirc. On the subject of Graviton Guns, would it be possible to give a unit with them pseudo-Relentless by attaching an IC in Cataphractii, conferring them Slow and Purposeful? I can't remember if that gives them the Relentless effect of S&P or just the movement/overwatch penalties. Phalanx Warder
I have X2 squads of 15 Breachers and 3 graviton guns in each, they are what I use to hold the line but with LA:Imperial Fists i am not afraid to move them around because my bolters usually cover for the 3 non firing Graviton gun carriers. for me the limit movement piece has had limited effect, they are used to strip hull points off of tanks in my army, they mesh well with my 2 Laser destroyer Rapiers and I can reliably kill land raiders, though they are close enough to get their package to my line. In short, Cataphractii plate only imparts the negatives of Slow and Purposeful to a squad it joins, not the benefits (relentless in this case) Link to comment https://bolterandchainsword.com/topic/309734-graviton-weapons/#findComment-4097036 Share on other sites

I feel like I've read that part of the FAQ before and forgot about it, and then I couldn't find it again when I was checking through just the red books. Trydragon
I play Iron hands so i can get more in my army if i want but best platform for them is ether the Rapier carriers or Dreads but i tend to run, a small 5 man Tactical Support Unit with 4 Graviton Guns and sarg with Auger Scanner in my deployment for a nice anti drop pod unit, but i tend to put them on my Gorgon Unit as an Anti, Sparten/LoW thing.
