The watch that never ends. A chapter one squad at a time.

Recommended Posts

Opened this thread as now I have direction and an idea ( Thank you Mog for all the background and help ), I thought it was best to have a clean thread to show my progress.

So let me introduce you to the chapter I settled on:-

The Angels of vigilance

Progress today was removing paint from 4 heavy weapon marines i got from ebay a few years ago ( testing a new paint remover tonight, cheap and non toxic, hope it works more info tomorrow ) and repairing a ton of damage, was a real mess the old paint hid quite a few glue melt marks, one pair of legs couldnt be saved and had to be replaced with some metal ones.

This is where I am at, ready for an undercoat.

Since I am out of the loop when it comes to gaming, no idea whats legal as a squad or not now, so shout up if I start to build silly stuff http://www.warseer.com/forums/warseer/images/smilies/angel.png

Off to check what the 5th marine should be, will do my best to have updates often!

Well after a few days of boring paint removing, some pretty stubburn models too, I have at last got to the fun part, putting some paint on!

Grey undercoat ( got myself an airbrush for that ) averland sunset first coat done with the airbrush for quickness and washed with neat seraphim sepia to pick out detail work so its easier for my old eyes to see where to paint and since its a grey undercoat to hit any spot I missed with the yellow to tie it in.

still have a few tanks to strip and a box of marines + the ebay stuff i bought needs some major repair work, but its a start. Hope to have a marine finished soonish so you can see my colour and give advice on how to improve it.

Liking the more desert yellow. Pretty cool chapter to start up, you are the first one that i have seen that has this army!

Torn between how light to go with the armour, left the razorback the dull yellow and did the crew a shade lighter and a more yellow colour to compare.

here is the WIP razor back with crew.

The two crew are techmarines so have red shoulder pads, normal marines will have yellow ( maybe black / grey for vets and leaders? )

anyway feedback welcome!

Have always thought of doing these guys, cool to see someone take them on :)

I've always seen them in the duller/more pastel yellow, personally - truer to the original colours we saw them in (it seems to change every time we get shown their livery) and makes them a little unique too :)
