Vanguard
Wonderful. Your captain looks like a no nonsense kinda Astartes. I like the blue, I think it's just right. I always thought that ultramarines looked better the darker the blue is. And the gold trim compliments it well.

Vanguard
Out of curiosity what paints did you use and what was recipe for achieving such a deep blue?
Myliel
Out of curiosity what paints did you use and what was recipe for achieving such a deep blue? Mostly what they suggest on the GW website : Maccrage Blue (Base) Drakenhof Nightshade (Shade) Altdorf Guard Blue (1st Highlight) Calgar Blue (2nd Highlight) Etherium Blue (Extreme / Edge Highlight) Guilliman Blue (Glaze) The only difference is that I usually base in Black (before the blue that is) as I think it gives a grittier no nonsense end result, also I tend to wash quite liberally and not "only" in the recesses. I think both things give a less cartoonish / clean look, more grit and wear.
