Psycannon on Rhinos

Well there isn't a use by date or an errata or even a specific codex grey knights Codex to use it for, and there isn't an updated version of the psycannon deimos either, aaaand the fact that it's still up on their page. So there is actually 0% evidence to argue that you can't use it because nothing says or even implies that you can't.

But as I said, I'd never use it, so makes no difference to me either way haha.

Nothing says I can no longer use Codex: Dameonhunters...  There was no errata, no updates form GW that tells us it's out of date....

Please, let's not go there.

We all know that those came out with, and in reference to, the old Codex.  You might still want to use the rules, and that's cool.  Players can use anything they want, as long as their group / opponent agrees.

But let's not try to justify this with an argument about it still being relevant.

Edit: Also, quite simply, the rules linked (and listed as experimental...), are out of date.  Solomon Lok and Hector Rex have updated rules by FW.  That document is no longer valid.

I would like to but the rules for Rex and Solomon are nowhere near of updated.

or in that case dark excommunication and holocaust are still playable psychic power.

Yeah, that's the point.  Those rules linked (which includes the old Lok, Rex and the Vehicle options for the Psycannon upgrades) are out of date.  Lok and Rex use old rules, and have old Psychic Powers there.

As far as I'm aware, both Lok and Rex have had updated rules released.

If he's not part of the old Character update, FW are/have updated the IA they originally appeared in.

Not been following recent FW releases though.

An old post by Dino;

Forgeworld is updating IA4. By definition this means Solomon Lok gets a much needed update to his rules.

This might help;

Lok was way too expensive previously. But now he is about half the points cost (about 2 x Ordo Xenos + a Plasma Pistol). He has WS 5, I 5, 2+/5++, Master Crafted Power Sword and other equipment (with other regular Inquisitor stats) but as Warlord he also gives FNP to his entire Henchmen Retinue (12 Henchmen from C:GK or C:I) if you are close to an Objective. So he could be useful.

He also has access to Major Durra who is also WS 5, I 5, W 3, A 3 with a Heavy Chainsword and other equipment, and Preferred Enemy (pick an Alien race).

As far as I'm aware, both Lok and Rex have had updated rules released.

If you know where to find them i would be really interested.

I have a Hector Rex but the rules are so out of date that they are just nice models taking the dust

A little bit of elbow grease uncovered these gems.

Heck, even those rules are most likely out of date as well.

As for Rex, here's what FW say of him;

Hector Rex model designed by Simon Egan, retinue models designed by Mark Bedford. Updated 6th Edition experimental rules for this model are available to download here.

We are sadly no longer in 6th Edition...

And Page 25 of the Grey Knights Codex is wrong.  So it obviously points to the older, now out of date, Codex.

Edit;

And unless their website is out of date as well, the same applies to Lok;

Inquisitor Solomon Lok and Retinue, designed by Simon Egan, contains three resin models: the Inquisitor himself, his Servo-skull Familiar and a Tech-Servitor, Autosavant Wassily. Updated 6th Edition experimental rules for this model are available to download here.

The sad thing is, they weren't even necessary.  An Assault Cannon with Psybolt Ammo was essentially a Psycannon, and used to be a legal upgrade.

The Psycannon turrets could have been used as fluffy visuals using Codex rules.

But then we lost Psybolts. :(
