Sgt. Harker ideas and questions

Recommended Posts

I am going to be building a steel legion Sgt. Harker. He is going to be built using a steel legion Sgt and a space marine scout heavy bolter. I was wondering if this could look right. After noticing that the scout holding the heavy bolter has the gloves that look right he also has no sleeves. For a steel legion model that's a problem. Do I just paint the arms like the cloth so it looks like he is just really buff or do you think I need to cut and chop the arms with the steel legion Sgt arms. I think the painting his arms like cloth works because then it looks like he is the relentless heavy bolter operator he is.

Also on a rules note, does harker confer the relentless rule to his unit or just himself. I am not sure and don't have my book in front of me right now.

Did you guys think harker is worth the points to field I haven't ever play tested him just thought he gave my army more character.

No relentless isn't confered to the rest of the unit. He really isn't worth the points (you can get an Armoured sentinel with a plasma cannon for cheaper to put it in perspective), but honestly if you like the character and want to do a cool conversion who cares. Play what models you want.

He costs more then a whole guardsmen squad, and gives astonishingly little for it. I'd do the conversion, then never run him as himself. HOWEVER, I anticipate he will get much better in the new Codex, whenever that comes out. So having a cool model on hand could be handy for that.

Harker isn't so good anymore which is a real shame sad.png As Henricus says hopefully this is a sign for him to get a return to glory next codex, especially with a great model smile.png So while I don't think he's a great pick if he fits your theme then that's reason enough to add him biggrin.png As for your conversion the Scout HB arms are clearly bare, so I think if it works painting them or not depends on how they look next to the rest of the model?

I think it would be easy to do a bit of quick and simple Green Stuff to make them look covered though, if you're up for it?
